Dr. Maria E Pleskacz, MD

I went to Pleskacz because my insurance changed and my old doctor didn't accept it. Right from the get-go, her front desk was not helpful to determine if they accept my insurance and spoke in a rude manner. She told me she didn't have time to find out if they accepted it and I would need to find out for myself. At the first new patient visit I mentioned the front desk and the doctor was incredulous, and not willing to consider my opinion. I went in months later with stomach issues and the doctor told me I should not eat nuts and seeds because of my diverticulosis, a no longer accepted advice with current science, which I knew. She ordered up a test for parasites and when that came up negative, sent me to a gut doctor who was as unhelpful as she seems to be, and basically runs a colonoscopy mill. I have found a new doctor who seems to be trying to keep up with the science.

Excellent doctor and communicates very well with me. She spent time to understand the issue. She is treating me for almost 20 years.

I have developed a great relationship with Dr. Pleskacz and would highly recomend her. She has always listened to me and treated me with respect. She always has notes to go over with me at my annual physical and makes copies of all notes and questions in my chart.

You feel like you're talking to a friend. She's very caring and listens to you.

Though Dr. Plescaz finally referred me out for a problem she misdiagnosed for 5 months and treated with antibiotics - it turned out to be bladder cancer (all with good resolution to the doctor she referred me to) - I would never return to see her. While examining me she hurt me with a kidney punch, insisting that this is how she had to examine me. It REALLY hurt, I told her about how painful it was and then she deliberately did that again, with a smile on her face. Never never never return to this doctor.

I credit Dr. Pleskacz with saving my life. I had a form of kidney cancer that is rarely detected until it has already spread. But because Dr. Pleskacz is so thorough with her exams and ordering tests, my tumor was found early. She takes the time to listen and always makes me feel comfortable during my exams. I never have to wait long and the entire staff is very accommodating. I cannot recommend her enough!!!

Overall, I would recommend her. Very personable, really listens when you talk, she takes notes. If I bring notes with me, she makes a copy to put in my records.Sometimes the staff can be a bit of a problem, although she has high praise for her staff. (they might be a great "doctor-needs staff" and not so good at "patient-needs staff.") A call to the office after a very disturbing health situation resulted in a return phone call to my home, 7 hours later, saying..."see a specialist as soon as possible." (This was at 7:30pm. Too late to act, which caused much anxiety on my part.) Don't know if the staff held onto the question or the answer until that time of day, but I felt it deserved to be handled in a more timely manner.

Doctor is very rigid. Does not treat patient according to patient's symptoms only follows blood test guidelines. Prefers to do everything herself. Minimal referrals.

Caring, knowledgeable, understanding. Thorough and is good at notifying me of all test results. Quiet setting - didn't feel rushed. Well respected by her patients - got her from a friend of mine. Been practing for quite and while and teaches too. Not too old either. Love her and trust her

Dr. Pleskacz always makes you feel like you're her only patient, and she gives you her undivided attention at each visit.
