I sought care for an ear and sinus infection and left the appointment with no treatment, no meaningful plan, and no confidence that my concerns had been taken seriously. The communication I received felt generic and copy-and-paste rather than tailored to my situation. While the wording appeared sympathetic, it ultimately offered no real help, guidance, or solution. Within minutes of looking elsewhere, I found another telehealth provider. About 30 minutes later, I had been evaluated, prescribed medication, and had a prescription sent to my pharmacy. The contrast between the two experiences was remarkable. I understand that antibiotics should not be prescribed unnecessarily. However, there is a difference between being cautious and leaving a symptomatic patient with no treatment plan and no practical next steps. The experience felt dismissive and left me feeling like I had wasted both my time and money. What concerns me most is that if I had simply accepted this assessment, I would… still be untreated. Another provider reviewed my symptoms and felt treatment was appropriate almost immediately. That contrast speaks for itself. At the end of the day, one provider left me with no treatment and no solution, while another provider was able to evaluate my symptoms and help me within a matter of minutes. Based on my experience, I would not return to this provider and cannot recommend her to others seeking help for common acute illnesses.
