Dr. Marian Dsouza Kamath, MD

I have been in the care of this practice for over 15 years. Primary care is essential to every aspect of life, and no one is better trained for that better then Dr. Kamath and his associates. If you want to live a longer, healthier life, this is the office for you. Thank you for everything you have done for me and my family Dr. Kamath.

Dr. Kamath and his team apparently have a policy of not mailing test results, even if postage fees are offered to be paid by the patient, and they do not even e-mail them. They either fax them, in which case you would need a time machine to have a fax machine available to correspond with these prehistoric fossils, or they ask you to pick up your results. Also they do NOT even have an EMR (electronic medical record) that allows patients to log in. When you work full-time, this is impossible. Even calling at work, the receptionis in Wantagh put me on hold for 40 minutes, and when I asked about EMR access, e-mail, or post-marking, she just sounded sheepish and shy and said they couldn't do it. 30 days later, HIPAA violation for not disclosing my results, nor a reason within those 30 days for not being able to be available so I could even pick them up. Second HIPAA violation was the fact that the last time I had been there, was 10 years ago. They said they "shred patient records" that… are no longer relevant. As nice as that sounds, that is 100% illegal. Third HIPAA violation. One of the doctors there administered a colonoscopy without using anesthesia. He wasn't sued due to professional courtesy, but he should have been sued, fired, and lost his medical license (this was not Dr. Kamath, but Dr. Adiyodi). Dr. Kamath went over my test results in less than 20 seconds claiming my cholesterol was too high and he wanted to put me on Lipitor. When I asked for background information, none was given and he said to just call another doctor. This is absolutely absurd, and I believe you get the same experience in a prison hospital where they just tell you they need to amputate, but no reason why. Avoid this practice, especially if you are above 65, or you will die while under their "care."

Reception staff friendly but clearly not administrative professionals, I wanted to make an appointment with Doctor in the Wantagh office, the women in the office said we have openings here, all my information she took was fine until she asked me where I lived, I told her queens then I was told you live far she then put me on hold came back and said oh Dr. is not taking anyone at the Wantagh office try the Merrick office. ( I guess they do not want people from Queens going to there office in Wantagh).

While the reception are staff friendly but clearly not refined medical or administrative professionals, and the facility needs updating, the nursing staff are very good, and Dr Marian Kamath is an intelligent, insightful, and thorough doctor with excellent diagnostic skills. He is always succinct and to the point and expresses a sincere concern for effective, preventive care.

Me and My family members have frequently visited Dr. Marian Kamath and his team at Babylong and Massapequa facilities. We are very pleased with the staff, doctor's diagnosis and service. Worth spending money and time for such a excellent team of doctors.
