Dr. Marianne Pauline Hendrix, MD

Dr. Hendrix is a thoughtful, attentive, and very knowledgeable doctor. May be the best psychiatrist on the island.

I left a message for the doctor to schedule an appointment for my daughter over a month ago. I just get a call back today. Are you kidding me? If you don’t have the courtesy to call back in a timely fashion, don’t bother calling. It says a lot about the kind of doctor you are and how little you must care for your patients

I like her. She's to the point, and bluntly says what she thinks. Some people can't deal with that, I understand, but I do not go there to be coddled. I visit to get better.

She doesn't care about her patients.

Dr. Hendrix is verbally abusive and should NOT be a psychiatrist. If you like to know anything about the medication you are prescribed (even the name) she will berate you and make you feel as small as she can. She will use the things she knows you are insecure about to insult you so that you shut up and she gets her way (which is to just give you a medication with no questions asked). Please do not go to her, especially if you are already struggling with self-esteem issues. She will destroy your self-worth and make you think it is your fault. I left her office crying and she was unbothered. She is toxic and should not be practicing medicine.

Never had a problem. Always shows concern. Takes time to ask and answer questions.

When I first met Dr Hendrix, she was a God send. Finally, I was given an adequate amount of anxiety medication and life felt worth living again. Then the pharmacist called her, disparaged me and refused to fill my script. That was, indeed, the beginning of the end. He clearly made a big impression on her because now I get such a measly amount of pills, it hardly seems worth going. I had a good thing going with this doctor and couldn't believe my luck! My luck ran out.

The difference between a Dr and a Good Dr makes all the difference, especially in this field. Dr Hendrix takes her time, listens and offers helpful advice. I left her office with hope and The sense that she really had genuine care and concern for my situation.

After first visit walked out of there like I just came from the circus! Felt visit was confusing but gave her another chance and went for second visit. Big mistake! Like the first visit, she spent more time complaining about other patients needs and having to log info on the computer. I chose a therapist outside of list she provided and at that point she became rude, unprofessional and dismissive! She should not be practicing!

Hmm...I am very confused. I walked in today expecting the absolute worst from this woman. All of the reviews made me want to cancel my appointment but I had to keep it because I desperately needed refills and could not get an appointment with anyone else. Our interaction was brief (no more than 15 minutes I think) because I was already late getting back to work, but in that time she did not come across as rude or mean in any way. She smiled and spoke pleasantly to me, asked me a few questions, looked at my history, and then put in for my refills. I'm wondering if she is better with providing med management than she is with counseling? I definitely made it clear that I only needed meds because I was already seeing a therapist weekly. Can anyone elaborate on how long they were in her care? Were there any other factors that could have influenced the experience in a negative way? Is she nice at first and then mean in subsequent sessions? For now I will give her a 3 out of 5 because I'm… just not sure.
