Dr. Marianne Ruppe Hopkins, MD

What was most memorable was Dr. Hopkins' thoroughly amiable personality and obvious intention to help. She is a remarkably intelligent, experienced and expert surgeon. She knows the most advanced procedures in her field and freely shared her wisdom.

She was always wanting to push stronger and stronger meds even when my child was stable. She put my son on a med and when he had a reaction she told me that it was impossible for that to happen cuz her friends who were researchers said it was. Even tho the same drug had the same effect on many according to Internet and my kids therapist. She said the therapist didn't know what she was talking about and the therapist is very qualified and respected in her field. The therapist is in Mansfield. Dr. Hopkins staff act like drug addicts and are control crazy, who often lie to Dr. Hopkins and she believes them over patients. It's a very poorly run office the staff changed 4 times in the short time we went there about 8 months. Not a place I wanted my child.

Dr. Hopkins is amazing! Her office employee is beyond rude and just plain mean. Both of my children are patients of Dr. Hopkins, one for a few years, the other almost a year. I always send a card to the office at holiday time, and go out of my way to inquire about Dr. Hopkins health, as we care about her, she is a huge part of our life, and has been a great help to our family. I have cancelled or rescheduled in the past, and I know the strict rules of 75 dollars for cancellation without 24 hour notice, and have always paid them in the past. Also, if you are more that 5 or 10 minutes late, I cannot remember which one,you are forced to reschedule. Even if you have driven 1 hour in traffic, bad weather, a snow storm, it does not matter. Mind you, I have waited close to an hour in the waiting room several times for her. I do not complain, we need her services. Yesterday, I cancelled through their answering service, at 5:26 pm. (That is only 23 hours notice I am well aware!) I… was told by the office employee that her answering service had the call from me at 9:01 am. And that did not give her any time to find a possible replacement patient. As if I called her at exactly 4:30 yesterday, she will definitely be able to fit a new patient in. Not true on the 9:01 am call time. I asked the assistant to check with her answering service, as she probably loaded all of yesterday's messages first thing in the morning, but I called yesterday, not this morning. I was told that she had already spoken with the Doctor this morning and was told to charge me a late cancellation fee. I responded that could she please speak to the doctor again, as she has incorrect information at the time she spoke with Dr. Hopkins, and explained to her that yesterday was extreme extenuating circumstances. I was told that "everyone has an excuse" as if I do not matter. I was told that she may not be able to get back to me today with the doctors final decision because she is very busy. Ok, this is what happened yesterday and I explained it to office worker in detail: Yesterday I received a call from my employment recruiter, at 5:10 pm. I was given an interview for 1:45 in Dallas for Thursday. My child's appointment is 4:30, and I do not think I can get back to my town, pick up my son at 3:30 at school and still get to appointment on time. I called the doctor office at 5:26, (23hrs 4 minutes notice) this is a courtesy to them but they do not see it that way. I am trying to be considerate because I fear I may show up late! And that was not good enough for her. I am upset that their answering service did not report my call time correctly, (9:01 am next day is incorrect) not to mention coincidence that that is the same time the secretary checked her messages this morning,I think not! ) I also explained that I have to take this interview, that I have been searching for a job since October, and the job starts on this Friday, today is the ONLY day I can interview!!!! Not to mention I told her that I have always never hesitated to pay the late fee as I always felt it was warranted. We have been late twice out of 20+ appointments, and I paid those late fees immediately happily. I told her to give all this info to the doctor and see if she will reconsider since she was given the wrong info on when I called, and all she has to do is talk to her answering service to find out... And she was so reluctant to help out, and told me "well you know everyone has an excuse" as if I would be dishonest. I have a huge amount of integrity and would not lie, ever! I also told her I cannot afford the 75 dollar late fee, that is why I HAD to accept this job interview. This is so stressful on top of trying so hard to get a good job and Finally getting the opportunity. The office worker is always rude, always, and I know I am not the only person who sees this. She has no compassion whatsoever and does not have any business interacting with the public if she cannot be the least bit personable. Also, my children have issues, and she gives rude stares at us, when I am clearly trying to keep them under wraps. I always have ignored this for 2 years now, but today was it for me. If doctor Hopkins was not such a wonderful doctor, I would seek another, but feel she is the best for my children.

Dr. Hopkins is great! However, her office assistant is rude. She is brusk, impolite and acts as if you are bothering her.

After having an appointment for 3 months and checking a week before Appointment day, I was called the afternoon before to say they don't take our insurance. Very dissatisfied with office staff.

My son was not properly diagnosed for several years. After seeing Dr. Hopkins for only 2 months, she had diagnosed him properly and his treatment has been very effective!

After working with several bad Psychiatrists over 2 years, we finally found Dr. Hopkins. Over the last 18 months, Dr. Hopkins has been a savior for my son. She is fantastically up to date on all available medicines to treat multiple issues and she was phenomenal at tweeking the dosage and types to find the perfect combination to treat my son. She is patient and takes the time to ensure understanding of all his issues. That patience has enable her to know what his needs are. Thank-you Dr. Hopkins for helping me get my son back!

Dr. Hopkins really cares for your child and makes sure that she is given the best treatment possible. My daughter has a heart condition also so Dr. Hopkins was very gradual with any medications. She would even order blood work and ekg's and the such to make sure her heart remained in good health with the medicine she was taking. My daughter became a functioning kid and made major improvements in school and in life because of treatment from Dr. Hopkins. It has changed our life!!!!! Unfortunately, she no longer accepts our insurance so we can no longer see her but what she did for my child is unbelievable. So parents never give up and if your child needs help from this type of doctor, don't be reluctant to see Dr. Hopkins. I haven't found anyone yet that measures up to her.

I took my son to only 2 appointments with Dr. Hopkins. On the day of his first appointment, she walked into the building 45 minutes late and it was another 30 minutes before we went into her office. She sat at her desk and asked me some questions and never spoke to my son until we were leaving and told him he was "a good boy." She had her secretary cancel and reschedule his next 2 appointments because she "had something come up". Consequently, my son ran out of his medications. I called her office to ask if I could get prescriptions since our appointments had been rescheduled and my son's appointment was a couple of weeks away still. I was told that Dr. Hopkins was "too busy". REALLY? I had an attorney call her and suddenly she had time to write the prescriptions. I was able to pick up the prescriptions and was given a letter saying Dr. Hopkins would no longer see my son. I just laughed and said I had already made that decision. I was amazed at the unprofessionalism of this doctor and… how my son was treated as if he did not matter to her.

I was lucky enough to have her treat my son while he was a patient at the Sundance center. She is incredible! She truly cares about the children in her care and takes her time to answer any and all questions. She goes out of her way to help however she can and we have a changed child because of her. I can't begin to express how amazing that she is!
