Dr. Marie Lee Beasley, DO

In our first meeting she told me that she would be the most accessible for contact via text message. When I initially texted her, it took a month for a response ( after I sent her a follow up text 2 weeks later). I sent her another text approximately two weeks later, and still haven't gotten a response six months later. I've never been ghosted by a psychiatrist, but I guess there's a first for everything.

Dr. Beasley seems to be nice in person, but the way she handles prescriptions isn't very organized and many times is late in returning calls and texts. I do like her but her inexperience shows through during our sessions. She is very well educated but transferring her knowledge and applying it to real patients is lacking. She would benefit greatly learning from experienced psychiatrists, who have been practicing a very long time- 20 plus years, with a practice filled with long term patients. Dr. Beasley seems to be uncomfortable continuing another psychiatrists medications, even though they are working for the patient. It's possible that her lack of experience with medications and how they can work together could be the cause. She also doesn't seem to understand fully how a patient's body gets use to certain medications over years of use and how to move forward from there. Also, if a patient has been on a certain regimen for years and it's working for them, she shouldn't go and… alter the medication or medication; if it isn't broke, don't try and fix it...I think that's how the saying goes.

I have had other psychiatrists in the past and I have NEVER had to keep calling and reminding them to send my scripts in. There have been unfortunately many times that I have been without my meds and that is down right negligent. She then gets upset with me when I voice my opinion about her lack there of - professionalism. A patient shouldn't have to keep reminding their physician, Dr. Marie Beasley to do their job and take care of the patient's needs. Seeing her has caused me more anxiety, stress and depression than my daily life does. I DREAD having to request something from her...it's a nightmare and she is putting me in danger. I have to find another psychiatrist, but the good ones aren't taking new patients. The situation just stinks. I hate having to be a baby sitter for my so called "medical doctor".

Dr. Beasley is a good doctor who will take the appropriate time to work with you and find the right medications and follow-up.

Even "IF" she would of finally called me back...at this point wouldn't go
