Dr. Marietta Nelson, MD

Dr. Nelson operated on my eyes in 1992 and 2016. I trust Dr. Nelson more than any other Eye Surgeon.

Sorry to say my experiences at this practice have not been pleasant. We will be choosing a new practice going forward. First off, for a practice that offers pediatric services, they really failed to provide a child friendly office. The lobby and waiting areas have no activities for small children. Which would not be a big deal except we waited over a hour to be taken back with two small children (1 and 2 years old). They failed to get authorization from my insurance company to be seen and we ended up having to pay cash. After waiting an hour and half to see the doctor the staff was short and impatient with my tired and bored kids. The technicians treated my children with no compassion or care and are not qualified to work with kids. They even made threats about the cost of the $45 eyedrops and $4000 equipment we would have to pay to replace if my son used too many drops or if the chair broke from being raised up too high. We left with no dilation and they did not offer to give any… eye medication, prescriptions or treatment plan for my sons eye condition. In summary, a total waste of the entire morning and hopefully my kids aren't too traumatized by this terrible experience as we will have to take them somewhere else to be seen.

The quality of her office is below average. But the quality of her billing department is down-right scandalous. Be careful about this office.

Not fond of the front desk lady, she is very rude, makes me feel rushed and doesn't make me feel comfortable. In the office and on the phone she gives the same attitude. I do however like dr. Nelson. She's very warm and caring to my 5 yr old daughter. However, I have been seeing her for 8 months now and she just can't seem to get my daughter prescription correct. My daughter has been turning her head slightly to the side ever since she received her new prescription. Dr nelson continues to change her prescription while saying she's very boggled on why she's turning her head...it's driving me crazy. I hope she figures it out soon otherwise I might look into getting a second opinion on this.

I have never felt so rushed in my life at a doctors office. I take my 5 yr old here for her vision and also follow up for extropia surgery she had in 2011, every time I go to check out and leave the same girls are rude. It's horrible to have a great doctor and horrible front desk girls. If they hate their jobs they should find new ones.

We first saw Dr. Nelson in the hospital when my child had an unexplained fever. She brought big complicated devices in order to accurately diagnose what could be going on. But despite her scary devices, she made my 5 year old feel so secure and laugh prior to using these devices. We have been seeing her for 2 years since that first visit and even though it takes me 40 minutes to drive to her office and then another 30-60 mins wait in the lobby, Dr. Nelson will always be worth the wait for my child's vision.

If you want one of the best doctors in town, visit Dr. Nelson. She is excellent in her diagnosis, her care, and in follow-up care. She will refer you to other specialists as needed. We have been her patients for over 10 years and have had excellent care especially in emergency situations.

Good doctor but has a terrible billing process and service.
