Dr. Marilyn Frances Kraus, MD

Marilyn F. Kraus, MD, is an attending physician for the Brain Injury Program and specializes in neuropsychiatry and traumatic brain injury (TBI) research. Dr. Kraus provides consultation to the inpatient units as well as helping with the development of the Concussion Program. She also serves as Program Director of the MedStar Georgetown University Hospital/NRH Brain Injury Medicine Fellowship. Prior to MedStar NRH, Dr. Kraus served as the medical director of the TBI Consult Section as part of Walter Reed National Military Medical Centers inpatient polytrauma team. She has also held positions at the University Of Illinois at Chicago, and Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Kraus has served as Medical Director of the Neuropsychiatry Programs at the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Medicine and at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago. She has published multiple research papers on the assessment of TBI utilizing neuroimaging and oculomotor studies, as well as on treatment …interventions, and she lectures widely. Dr. Kraus earned her Medical Doctor degree from Tulane University School of Medicine, where she served as chief resident. She also completed fellowships with the Baylor College of Medicine and The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Kraus is a member of the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine, the American Society for Neurorehabilitation, and the American Neuropsychiatric Association, and is an elected member of the International Brain Injury Associations Board of Governors.
