Dr. Marilynn Stites Dewald, MD

Dr. Dewald is very thorough, unrushed, task oriented, and explains thoroughly, to your understanding, all procedures, or disease processes, and she gives you, the patient, the last word on proceeding with her plan of care or not. She makes you a part of your own care.

Dr. Dewald is never rushed. She gives very clear explanations. She is always willing to refer me to other doctors or specialists as needed. I feel she is caring and very intelligent. I have had no problem with her as a doctor.

she does not listen to you and if you do not do what SHE WANTS you to do, she drops you like a hot potato. She does not even talk to you to try and resolve (her) the problem or situation. She dropped me, feeling worse than when I started seeing her. Most of all, as a patient, she does not listen to you......

Dr. Dewald has renewed my faith in doctors. Finally, I've found a doctor that actually listens and cares. She accomplished more for me in one visit than a dozen other doctors have even attempted to do in the past 10 years.

Please take the time through the Freedom of Information Act to find out about the disciplinary action against this doctor. Anyone who can ignore the hospital nurses all night as they call about a crashing pregnant patient is someone you have to look at twice. The outcome was not good here.

I have had Dr. Dewald as my primary care physician for over 5 years now. I am very pleased with her care. She is always very thorough, listens to me and has good follow up. She is very prompt and always educates me on treatment options available to me.

Marilyn DeWald is one of those doctors who can't admit that she doesn't know something or that she is wrong. She does not always consult with or bring in other doctors even when it is clearly indicated. She nearly killed my mother when she consistently denied referring her to a surgeon because she thought that my mother's pain was just sciatica. Turns out that my mother had a diseased appendix, gallbladder AND ovaries that had cysts all over them and she needed surgery! DeWald also managed my healthcare for a time when I was a teenager and did so very irresponsibly: putting me on medications that made the situation worse without a proper evaluation, not doing anything for me when I experienced side effects, and not listening to me in general when I would voice concerns. Because of her faulty treatment I ended up in the hospital where she abused me verbally, emotionally and psychologically (this was overheard by other people). She ended up taking herself off my case because she… couldn't handle it and another physician was brought in to supervise my care instead. Beware of this doctor... in my experience she does more harm than good.
