Dr. Marina Moguilevitch, MD

Marina Moguilevitch, MD, FASA, is Director, Transplant Anesthesia and Professor, Anesthesiology at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Moguilevitch’s clinical focus is on anesthesia for the transplantation of abdominal organs.She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree at Yaroslavl State Medical Institute, Yaroslavl, Russia in 1989. After completing a clinical internship in internal medicine at North Shore University Hospital Queens in 2001, Dr. Moguilevitch pursued a three-year residency in anesthesiology at Montefiore and graduated in 2004. After her graduation, she joined the department of Anesthesiology as a staff member, and was instrumental in starting the liver transplant program at Montefiore Medical Center in 2008.Dr. Moguilevitch’s research interests are in the areas of coagulation management, enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) in liver and kidney transplantation, as well as short- and long-term outcomes after abdominal organ transplant. She has made significant …contributions in the implementation of preoperative cardiac guidelines in kidney transplant recipients at Montefiore Medical Center. Dr. Moguilevitch has shared her work through peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, abstracts, and international, national and regional invited presentations. She is a reviewer for numerous journals including the British Journal of Medicine and Medical Research, the Journal of Anesthesiology and Critical Care, Journal of Transplantation, and Case Reports in Clinical Medicine. She has also served as a host and organizer of multiple regional and national meetings on abdominal organ transplantation.Dr. Moguilevitch is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the International Liver Transplant Society and the Society for the Advancement of Transplant Anesthesia.
