Dr. Marina Florencia Rodriguez, MD

We have had an extremely poor experience with this doctor and would recommend anyone needing help with more complex medical issues to research alternatives. My mother's health has been in rapid decline over the last few years. She is now suffering a multitude of issues which make her bed bound, in high levels of pain and extremely vulnerable as she has limited support system around her. Dr Rodriguez has repeatedly failed to address the core issues from which all her problems stem; obesity and depression (for example she has never once suggested a dietitian, asked about core reasons for weight gain etc) and now my mother's health is in major decline has done nothing to work with her on pain management or making sure the right support system is around her to take her of her. We understand that a PCP's role in the medical process has been narrowed over the years but her failure to take any ownership over the direction of her patient's care and well being has been overwhelmingly… poor. I am very surprised to read some of the positive reviews below; my entire family have independently found her curt, unsympathetic and extremely unproactive.

I did not have a good experience with Dr. Rodriguez, and I was very disappointed. My initial visit was fine, but I did not feel that she took the time with me that she could have. She seemed to be in a rush and she was not a good listener. I did not feel that she was very thorough. However, she was nice enough, and I liked the office and nurses so I was willing to remain a patient. Months later I received some abnormal results on a blood test. She wrote that all results were fine, but I was confused as it also said that some results were "Abnormal" so I called to speak to the nurse. The nurse could not answer the questions I had so she had the doctor call me. I did not insist on this, I was happy for the nurse to ask the doctor my question and then call me back. However Dr. Rodriquez called me herself. She was angry that I had questions about my test and clearly bothered that I was taking up her time. Her tone of voice was lousy and her comments were not helpful. Furthermore, she did… not answer my questions.I felt very uncomfortable. I had to think about whether or not I really trust her with my future health concerns, and the final answer is NO. Ridiculous attitude and I wonder why she is a doctor. For what reason? She clearly does not enjoy working with people. Maybe just a bad day, but still, not worth it for me. By the way, I did follow up with another doctor, and while my test results were nothing serious, I did need to have the test taken again and I am being watched for some problems which the test did indicate. Dr. Rodriguez did not recommend any retesting. Clearly she was too bothered to care.
