Dr. Marina Russo, MD

Best doctor around

I have been seeing Dr. Marina Russo, endocrinologist, now for a few years, and she is extremely thorough, extremely patient, kind, and has an impeccable bedside manner. Dr. Russo is fabulous, extremely well-versed in her field, and very smart. She listens to you, will answer any of your questions so you can understand, and always types out a medical encounter report of your visit with instructions to take home with you. I really like that!!! I sometimes forget what doctors tell me and this is definitely a plus for me!!! I wish ALL physicians did this!!! She also includes you in your treatment plan as well. I really like that!!! Dr. Russo also has an exceptional, extremely knowledgeable and gifted dietician in her office, by the name of Ginny Kerwin, who offers diabetes related classes that are not only informative, but also extremely thorough, and allowing plenty of time for questions to be addressed. Ginny is also very "patient-friendly", kind, extremely patient, and welcomes… future follow-up questions and conversations, and will work hard along side of you to learn about diabetes: management, diet, carb counting, etc. She is the very best dietician I have ever seen!!! Both Marina Russo, MD and Ginny Kerwin, are fantastic professionals, yet very down-to-earth, and extremely interested in helping you to do well. If you make an appointment, I can assure you, that you will NEVER regret it!!! It may, however, take a bit to get in because Dr. Russo's practice has grown significantly over the past few years!!! It is definitely worth the wait!!!

I have been seeing Dr. Russo, since my former endocrinologist relocated. She is the best! You can tell how smart she is almost immediately. She is very patient and goes over everything in detail. I'm glad she is my doctor

Dr. Russo is arrogant, rude, doesn't listen to the patient, doesn't like to explain what test numbers mean in plain English, has on two occasions entered the consultation with a laptop that is low on battery power and has to interrupt the consultation to get a charger. She treats a question as if it is inherently hostile and aggressive. Whatever Russo's level of medical expertise is masked by her insolent demeanor and posturing.

Dr. Russo is very rude and she has a bad bedside manner. I felt that she didn't listen to my issues and kept interrupting while I was trying to talk. She barely gave me the time of day and then she told me that I needed to choose doctors wisely and accused me of making up symptoms. She also said that I didn't need to come back to her unless I got rid of some other doctors that I see due to other medical issues. I would not recommend her to anyone and I think that HSHS needs to reevaluate her. Poor excuse as a Doctor.

Dr. Was rude, condescending and would ask a question but then cut you off before you could finish answering the question. I will not refer anyone to her.

Dr. Russo was very nice and understanding . Dr. Russo and her staff made me feel welcome and at ease while at her office. Very professional. I am very glad that I was recommended to Dr. Russo's office. Two thumbs up!!

Took my mother to see Dr. Russo. While my mother believes she has reactions to medicine and makes her a difficult case to help, Dr. Russo was condescending and rude to her. She pretty much had my elderly mother in tears. Let alone, what does it say when you are seeing a Dr. and they tell you at one point in the visit, that they "gave up" awhile ago? If you are unable to help someone, then refer them on. At the very least, show some basic compassion and respect.
