Dr. Mario Oliver, MD

My regular primary care physician, Dr. Matta, was out of town, so I saw Dr. Oliver instead via telemedicine. At the beginning of my appointment, he greeted me with the previous patient's name - this was not a big deal, but did not feel great! When Dr. Oliver asked why I had come in for an appointment, he didn't let me finish my explanation (I had a flare up of rashes) - he told me that he couldn't take my concerns at face value and could not see my skin clearly enough through the video camera on my computer, and nearly refused to help me. I asked for routine blood work since it had been several years since last had blood work, just to make sure that my flare up wasn't related to that. He initially said he could not just do lab work for no reason; however, after a long discussion, he later changed his mind and allowed me to get blood work. I also mentioned that my dermatologist had given me a steroid cream for the rash and it wasn't helping. Dr. Oliver kept referring to my rash as… "acne", and saying that my dermatologist doesn't know what she's doing by giving me a steroid cream for "acne". I had to explain multiple times that it's not acne - it's a rash. I don't normally write reviews, but I did not feel great walking away from this appointment. I didn't feel like Dr. Oliver listened to me or took me seriously. Additionally, I felt like he was condescending toward me and my dermatologist. I know this is a difficult time for everyone, but there is no excuse for that kind of patient treatment. I wish him well, but I hope Greybill sees this and talks to him about it! Positive note: Dr. Oliver's nurse was very kind and did an amazing job getting me set up for my telemedicine appointment!
