Dr. Mario Guillermo Zapata, MD

Went to go see Dr zepita and all I can say is the man does not pay attention to your medication or what he's giving you. I've only seen him one time and then that one time have I have already had to call them back four times to get my prescription correct he did not give me my proper dosage nor did he give me the proper dosage and I've had to call him four different times to get these corrected when he has access to my file and can see what I have been on I do not recommend him as he cannot take proper time to research his patients

What a total jerk, where he gets his thinking, as he seems to make it up, worst Dr. I've ever seen, his manors were very rude, it was about his time not about me.

I've been seeing him for 4 months and instead of helping me to process my trauma and grief, he just drills it into your head that you need to push those feelings aside and ignore all negative emotions via meditation. The other staff rarely does what they say they're going to do. If I could go anywhere else I would. Save yourself the trouble.

If you are serious about living a drug free lifestyle, and willing to accept responsibility. This is your man. Many of the reviews above\below are all about putting him down as a person because evidently he told you something that you didn't like and the truth hurts. Accepting our faults, educating yourself, and working hard to reach your goals is only part of it. The rest is going on and learning to live with the fact that we are addicts and gaining the tools to live a drug free lifestyle. He is awesome ,eccentric, and willing to try to help you. Remember that you have to be willing to help yourself at the same time. All of us are different, have our ways, and by all means. Not perfect. Bottom line: this guy is a genius and one he'll of a guy. Just Do It. Get Well and live a happy and prosperous life. DR. Z rules.

I have tried numerous therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists. The reason for that was that none made a changes in my perception of life and my reaction to situations that negatively affected me. Dr. Z was referred to me by a therapist in Mooresville. At the beginning it was a little strange, but my common sense allowed me to understand that there was a reason behind his questions. I decided to continue to see where it would take me. Questions about my religion were very relevant to me. Since religion is a very important area of our life and the way we see the world and the way we feel the world sees us. Dr. Zapata is very straight to the point, and l appreciate that. If l'm coming for help, is not to listen to somebody tell me what l want to hear, but to correct the way l think, if it is negatively affecting my life. To teach me how to cope with anxiety and stress. Dr. Zapata has changed my life, and possibly my entire family.

If I had the ability to leave negative stars I absolutely would, but I don't, so one star will have to suffice. At my $200 initial consultation Dr. Zapata explained to me (as previous reviewers also recall) that life was made out of highways and ditches. He then said there were holes in the ditches and these were "sh*t holes". He then asked me to stand up with him and to step into the "Sh*t Hole". As we were standing in the "Sh*t Hole" he asked me to look around and tell him what I saw. I told him I saw "Sh*t" all around me". He said "Yes, Sh*t". He then asked me to hold out my hand and he held out his hand also and he said we should compare our "Sh*t". He said there would be differences like his might be taco in his "Sh*t" and there might be enchillada in my "Sh*t" (his exaxt words), but both were still "sh*t". He then said I was in the "Sh*t Ditch" because I chose to be. He then later proceeded to ask me about my relgion and I told him I was a christian and where I went to church… here in town. He then said that Heaven was reserved for the humble and meek and that I was not humble and meek. I rarely leave reviews, but I felt this guy was so fantastic he deserved one. I'm out $200 and lost 45 minutes of my life listening and talking about "Sh*t". This guy really likes the word "Sh*t".

I am a guardian of an adult person that saw Dr Zapata. I was present with my ward at the initial and concurrent visits. Dr Z is very open with his patients and lets them know up front that they will need to follow his directives and complete the coping/stress relief techniques he educates them with or treatment will not be successful. He does ask questions that I do not think are relevant, but going through the session, I can see why Dr Z needs to have insight into the person in order to be effective.

Very erogant

I went to office feeling very anxious and having depression symptoms that were new. I had been seeing a therapist for 2 months and i felt medication was needed to control my symptoms. He would not listen to me, and I was felt worse then when I came to see him. I would not suggest having anyone see him. He truly made me feel horrible about myself, and that I was responsible for being sick. He quickly made inaccuracy assumptions about me and showed little caring. People deserve to be listened to and not dismissed. His office staff was very nice.

I called to make an appointment and the receptionist "LAURA" made fun of me for studering with her colleagues she had not hung the phone up and I was still there so I called back and canceled that appointment is will not be tolerate that she never knows what she may have to deal with in life
