Dr. Marisa Formica, MD

Dr. Formica and staff listened to my concerns, my injury and provided excellent medical service and advice. She is also great with injections - I barely felt anything. Definitely will be my go-to orthopedic clinic.

First time patient after an ankle injury from soccer. Great experience. The staff is all very nice and helpful. I saw Dr. Formica. I found her to listen well, be thoughtful and caring, and generous with her time and explanations. I even called them after I left cause I forgot to ask one question and Dr Formica hopped on the phone and took the time to address it.

My wife and I had a terrible experience with Dr. Formica. Quite honestly Dr. Formica took our money and wasted our time. My wife had a fractured humerus. We had gone to urgent care (with Dr. Staples in Forest Hills Queens) who was wonderful and competent. Dr. Formica was one of the Orthopedic Doctors recommended by his office. I’m not sure why Dr. Formica was recommended by his office (it seems like they simply recommended local Orthopedists). I’m 57 years old. I’ve never had such a horrible experience. Dr. Formica seems to only be in business for the sole purpose of collecting money. No treatment options were mentioned. To be blunt, she seemed confused by the x-rays. My wife was the one offering options on what to do, not Dr. Formica. When we asked about an immobilizing sling she offered no options, no advice or opinions. Yes, she walked in the room with my wife but offered no diagnosis. We had to find another doctor (an orthopedic surgeon) on our own. We offered him the diagnosis… offered to us by urgent care (because Dr. Formica offered no diagnosis). Another ordeal to note: Her office couldn’t open the CD that contained x-rays from urgent care; therefore they had to redo the x-rays. I got back home later and the disk from urgent care opened up just fine. Later I took the urgent care CD with the x-rays to another orthopedic doctor & he opened it just fine. I don't see why she was not able to open the CD, hence she had to give another x-ray. Subjecting my wife to unnecessary radiation is not a good thing (to say it mildly). After the visit, her office didn't want to give us the x-rays they took. When we asked for our x-rays Dr. Formica and her office workers seemed (again) confused. With a little pleading on our part the women we spoke to in her office finally offered to send us the x-rays later in the day. My wife had a fractured arm & there was no urgency or attempt to give treatment or a diagnosis of any kind. To say we were upset is an understatement.

No diagnosis. Expensive visit.

stay away dr formica is the worse dr in my 50 years of life she has no bedside manner she lloks to get rid of u as fast as she can and she is terrible really bad
