Dr. Marjorie C Gallagher, MD

I was sent to Dr. Marjorie C. Gallagher when I needed advise and direction. Allergies, IBS, Anti-Social Disorders, Weight gain, Immorality, and OCD were just a few of my problems. I have been in love with Dr. Gallengher since that day!

Lacks professionalism. At times presents unkempt. Appointments do not start at scheduled time despite a lack of extraordinary circumstances or emergency. Office staffis just as professional as her. No one needs this distress. Avoid if u can.

Be very careful! Your bill may NOT reflect payments. Dr. Gallagher will cash checks, BUT she does not update accounts to reflect payment! She charges an incredible amount for services; she should be able to pay a competent person to manage accounts, so that bills are accurate and clients are not robbed.

I have been sent to Marjorie Gallagher three times, each time she diagnosed me differently. The first time was in 2005. She completely changed my diagnosis, wanted me on anti psychotic medication and in intense therapy. My psychiatrist refused her advise and wrote a rebuttal. Without having done anything to follow her recommendations when I went back to her five years later I was miraculously recovered from my delusional and psychotic state, but then I supposedly suffered from OCD (because I used paper towels to dry my hands instead of a towel.) Before and after the third time I had to see her, I was extremely distraught because once again my diagnosis was changed. When I received the state letter to be evaluated again by her, I developed a condition that led to anal fissures and chronic GI problems. I lost my disability, but when I appealed the decision I was sent to two different state psychiatrists who ultimately refuted Marjorie Gallagher's diagnosis. Their reports concurred… with my psychiatrist's. The state then overturned their previous decision that had been solely based on her report. I cannot fully express my feelings of anger and outrage at the emotional damage she has further caused me. It took ten months to get through the process of regaining my disability benefits. I was physically and emotionally drained. It made me feel helpless and more depressed. Any time I receive a letter from my retirement system my fear is rekindled and I have terrible physical consequences. I do not like that my only option was to choose a star. I would like a no star rating for this woman whom I refuse to call doctor. I pray that someone does something to remove her from the practice of medicine before she does any more damage to anyone else. I don't even care that she has no staff and that her facilities are in very questionable condition. I needed her to evaluate me as an unbiased third party not a "hired gun" for the state. She doesn't even have to be pleasant, but she is completely unethical and uneducated in her practice of medicine.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol Retirement System uses DR. Gallagher. I was a 15-year Trooper that went on leave in 2005 for depression. I found that anyone could go in to her office and claim they have a psychological order and she'll diagnose them with it. She doesn't take the time to evaluate her patients and rushes them through her office. My doctor initially thought I had bipolar disorder, but after spending a long time evaluating me, determined that I had simply suffered depression in 2005. I have a psychologist and psychiatrist that state I'm not disabled, and even the highway patrol's psychologist does not believed I have bipolar disorder (bipolar was a big thing for a while. Ads were everywhere for it. If you read magazines and saw TV ads, you'd think everyone had it). So, the retirement system sends me a form every (2) years to see if I'm disabled. My doctor reports that I'm not, which then means I have to go see DR. Gallagher. They pay for me to see her every (2) years, and… she keeps telling them I'm disabled due to bipolar disorder. It's ridiculous that the retirement system pays to keep sending me to someone who's diagnosis is pure opinion. Changing her opinion with no physical evidence would suggest that she was wrong in her diagnosis. Anyone could see that's not going to happen. She's never even given me anything such as a MMPI psychological test to support her opinion. Instead, she asks me to remember the words "rose, mist & 1776", name any (5) rivers, name as many presidents as I can starting with the current one, and counting backwards from 100. Really! Maybe she was the lowest bidder for the state contract. If you want a doctor that you could suggest a psychological disorder to and they would be able to 'see it' by talking to you, she's your doctor. If you want someone who can really evaluate and help you, stay as far away from her as you can.

She is the most unprofessional psychiatrist I have ever met. During her evaluation, she rarely gave me the opportunity to explain anything. It was mostly "yes" and "no" questions, which told her absolutely nothing about the person I really was. I agree that the office was VERY unprofessional and filthy. She had about 3 magazines and a radio playing, with a sign saying it was a buffer for soundproofing her office. This woman should be ordered to stop practicing...but then I guess certain BUSINESSES send their employees there because she gives them the answer they want. I bet she is getting paid under the table. All I can say is if you can avoid her at all costs, do so!

My employer required me to see this doctor, after an incident at work. The office was filthy and dingy. I had never seen a psychiatrist before, and wouldn't see her again under any circumstances. She typed on a computer during the entire appointment, and asked a lot of questions involving sex and other strange subjects. After I saw a copy of her report, I couldn't believe all of the mis-information. My boss actually laughed about it and threw it out, because he said he knew her evaluation was completely wrong.My wife went with me, and told me that there was a couple there who were discussing a possible lawsuit against her for some things she had said and done. My wife didn't hear all of the information, but it sounded serious: the man said he was losing his job based on incorrect things she had told his employer. They were hiring a private detective to have her investigated.Thankfully, I don't have to return to her and managed to see a a fantastic doctor who was kind and listened… well-two qualities Dr. Gallagher lacks.

This woman has no business dealing with the mental status of a flea. She is rude, abrasive, impatient, and any other adjective you can think of to des ...

She constantly types on her large Apple laptop during the visit, which is a bit distracting. She jumped to conclusions on a diagnosis because one medication did not do the trick. She had evening hours and seemed to spend adequate time with the patient. She doesn't seem to have office staff and I got a $1,300 past due bill from her - when I religously made my co-pay. She must not have submitted the right paperwork to insurance - or submitted to wrong insurance. She is in my network.If you pay in cash, you get a Staples variety of hand written receipt - not admissable to health care spending accounts.I called her once to request a receipt with letterhead - no return call - no invoice or receipt in the mail.I called her once when meds ran out - called 2 times with message. She did not get my message - or got the second one close to my appt. I went without the meds for 1+ weeks.

I have referred several friends and family members to Dr. G. She is fantastic. She keeps up on the most recent research, knows the field and statistics inside and out, and has loads of experience. She is not a "warm fuzzy" personality type, but she is friendly, professional and LISTENS! She never discounts or minimizes my experiences or concerns and she is dedicated to continuing to adjust my meds to keep my bipolar depression in remission. I normally don't trust doctors, but I absolutely trust Dr. G. She makes sure I understand the big picture of my mental health, including why she chooses to prescribe certain meds, side effects, drug interactions and biological implications. She is also straightforward about what I need to take responsibility for in my own mental health hygiene, such as attending counseling and eating, sleeping and exercising right. If you want a loopy touchy-feely type that will tell you what you want to hear, go somewhere else. If you want a dedicated, available… doctor that will help you attain greater health and stability and inspire hope when you are discouraged, go see Dr. G. I cannot imagine you can find better psychiatric care in Columbus.
