Dr. Mark Alexander, MD

Dr. Mark Alexander spent 15 minutes at my bedside trying to convince me to go home at the height of a major winter storm. The governor repeatedly urged all residents to stay off the roads, yet my Sister and I were insulted with remarks such as "it sounds like you're a little spooked about going home" and "I appreciate your anxiety, BUT...". He insisted that we were safer traveling 90 miles in the blizzard, than staying put at the hospital. He asserted "I'm not going to advocate you stay in the hospital" and "personally if I were you I'd try to get home". Driving in any snow storm with white-out conditions is scary as hell. You can't see the lines on the road, the cars in front of you, or the signs. The car fishtails around corners and slides through intersections. His callousness was heartbreaking. The fact that Boston Children's Hospital allowed him to go room-to-room, convincing patients to travel that day, is disgusting. Those 15 minutes were distressing and won't be forgotten.

The best doctor. He has been taking care of me for the last 10 years plus. he is one of the reason why i am still alive.

Sure he can spend 30-45min in the room, but wasting your time. Opiniated, arrogant, lecturing Dr who could speak on his podium without taking a break, not creating safe space to hear what you need to ask, say, and answer your questions. Quite horrible bed side manners to boot.

Waited 2 1/2 hrs to see Dr. Alexander. He spent considerable time checking our son more thoroughly than most doctors and also really talked one on one with our son for a lengthy time and discussed really heartfelt issues concerning his medical situation and his life in general. We were all amazed at his ability to get to the heart of matters and really connect with our son on many issues. It was a lot of information to take in, but an amazing appointment. Dr. Alexander is unique and refreshing in his approach. We really appreciated that he is knowledgeable across other medical specialties to help put pieces together with complicated medical situations and not tunnel visioned in his own medical field. He is specific as to his medical opinions and objectives, and has a healthy holistic mindset as well. My son really liked him and respected him. The staff were wonderful, friendly, and helpful in treatment from the first call to set the appointment, so we could manage care until we could… get in to see the Dr. We left with some specific treatments, but we are just beginning testing, so we will see how it goes in treating the major medical problems presented.

Horrible doctor. Waited over an hour and he spent 15 minutes with me.
