Dr. Armitage and his staff are a dedicated group of professionals who have worked very hard with me to treat my many issues. I've been to dozens of doctors but have seen none with the dedication of Dr. Armitage. Many thanks.

I have been a patient at Pelican Family Medicine for over 10 years. My daughter and her 4 children are also patients. Dr. Sam is available 24/7 to help us with routine care, accidents and unexpected deaths in the family. His genuine concern and thoughtful direction have helped all of my family through many painful situations. He is the best healthcare provider that we have ever had the privilege to be associated with. He cares and he is always there!!

I can not begin to say how rude the PA's are. They gossip about the patient's in earshot of everyone. It's a popularity contest. Just beware...everything you tell them in confidence is told to the rest of the Staff.

I love these group of people! For all of you nay sayers, have you really stopped to look at his track record?! I wish I were only half the man that he is! When we first moved to Wilmington,NC we panicked for we knew no one and everything you did was by word of mouth or experience. I lucked up and found the word Pelican.........Family Medicine. Well I am from Louisiana and I thought if the name had pelican in it , it couldn't be all that bad! Will not only was it not that bad.....it turned out to be the BEST. The icing on the cake in the beginning was the doc was from Lousiana too! Make a long story short, I have NEVER had a bad experience. He seems to care especially for the underdog! These guys got me through a rough period in my life when they deployed 2 of my sons to Iraq. They were there for me even if I just needed to talk. I understand there are some negative remarks on here and I expect that for no person is perfect! Since Jesus I have yet to see a perfect man or woman. I live… in a glass house therefore I can not and will not throw stones. I am sorry if you lost a loved one, I too know how that feels but blaming the dr is not going to help believe me I tried to blame everyone. I know in my heart that if doc had one dollar left to his name if you needed it he would give it. He is not perfect, no one I repeat no one is!Anger will make you sick way before forgiveness will! As for Cheryl well.................YOUR ROCK SISTER!!!!

I love the staff!!! They have to be on their toes and let me tell you they are! They always have a smile on their faces and there is always laughter no matter how sick we are! I think they are great and I feel privilaged to be their patient :)

I believe in Dr armitage he kept his promise going back to year 2001 that are honest good people and doc too and awesome

First of all the all of his clinics need to be reported on and shut down for good. Dr. Armitage is nowhere to be found ever so he sends his nurse practitioners to proceed with lousy unprofessional work. My son had to be seen for a medical condition in which they tried to mask with medications instead of being referred to a specialist in which they still haven't done. What's the problem with these people?! The clinic is disgusting also. Medical problems get worse if you rely on this joke of a place to provide medical attention! Just stay far away from these clinics. Uneducated people working there. Report them to the Medical Board.

This is not a good place to go! I agree with other reviews that state that Dr. Armitage is not even available to patients most of the time. His offices are staffed with PAs and Nurses that are not educated enough to handle serious or complex conditions. The diagnosis that is given to you is usually wrong because it consists of what they can find by running to the computer and looking on WebMd. Since Dr. Armitage has opened other offices, the care you get is even worse, especially from the long term PA there. Paperwork is not completed correctly and test results are not given to you in a timely manner. They do happily hand out prescriptions to those patients who seek them out and love the attention. And good luck on getting a referral to a specialist within a reasonable amout of time.

Before making an appointment, I asked his nurse if he was familiar with treating my diagnosis...she said yes. On my first visit, I asked him if he has treated my medical condition, if he would stick to the medications prescribed by my specialist in another state who diagnosed me 6 years ago and worked years to find a combination of medications that worked for me...he said YES. After 3 visits, he started changing dosages, then to medications that were NOT COVERED by my insurance and did not work for me. He TOLD ME these medications worked the same as the meds I was on, but more "highly recommended". The medication changes threw me into a depression, but he refused to change back to my original meds...I ended up with suicidal thoughts and if it weren't for the local SUICIDE HOTLINE workers, I would probably be dead right now!!!!
