Dr. Mark McKinley Ash, MD, MS is a highly skilled dermatologist practicing in the Syracuse, NY area.

In 2025, Dr. Ash founded Syracuse Dermatology, PLLC in order to continue serving the Syracuse community with exceptional and attentive dermatologic care. Syracuse Dermatology reflects Dr. Ash's vision to create a medical practice where all individuals feel heard, respected, and cared for -- a place that combines clinical excellence with genuine compassion.

He provides thorough and compassionate medical, surgical, pediatric, and cosmetic dermatologic care with a special focus on treating:

• Skin cancers
• Autoimmune conditions
• Hidradenitis suppurativa (small painful lumps that form where the skin rubs together)
• Complex skin diseases

Dr. Ash grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan, before completing his Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Biochemistry at Calvin University and his Master’s degree in Nutrition at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Dr. Ash earned his medical doctorate (MD) at …East Carolina University, where he was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Medical Honor Society and the Gold Humanism Honor Society based on his academic excellence and compassionate approach. During his internal medicine internship at SUNY Upstate, he was honored as the Internal Medicine “Intern of the Year.” Dr. Ash completed his dermatology residency at the University of North Carolina. Dr. Ash has authored academic publications, medical school lectures, and conference presentations.
