Dr. Mark Daniel Barakat

I went to Texas Alliance Health Hospital on 3-20-26 for bleeding in my throat as instructed to do so via my doctor office. After they checked me in and took my vitals, I waited at least 1 hour plus to be seen. When they called my name, I was put into a room (like a triage room) and told the doctor will be with me shortly. I felt like I was in a doctor office and not a hospital. I waited another 20 minutes for them to show up. This so-called doctor Dr Mark D Barakat walked into the room and said “so what’s going on?” I proceed to show him a picture of the blood drainage in the back of my throat. He asked how long has this been going on? I explained, over 1 week, I had been to Breeze on Monday, and they put me on the following meds, I showed him a picture of what I as taking. He said has that nasal spray helped at all, I told him I don’t think so. He said “it figures.” He said so “what do you want me to do”, a blood test to look at your blood levels or a CT scan? I told him… NO. I was told by my dr office to come here, that’s why I am here. He said ya that’s the problem doctor offices send people here, when they should have sent me to an ENT. He told me I am the healthiest person in this hospital. Really, that’s what you tell a patient who came in for help. I said are you even going to look at my throat? He said ya “I guess I can do that”. As he was reaching for his medical gloves that voice box that they wear said something to him about an incoming, and his responses was great, they don’t give me enough time for anything. He looked at my nose and then in my throat. Did NOT even feel my throat for swelling. Never said a word and I said so what is causing the blood in the back of my throat? He used mumbled big doctor words that made no sense to me. By this time, I was so mad at how he was treating me, his bedside manner was horrible. He said we can write a referral to an ENT for you. I said so should we change antibiotics to something stronger? He said ya we can do that. He left the room and after 30 more minutes I went out and asked when I can get my paperwork to go home, and the gal said oh I am printing it now. Dr Mark D Barakat was very unprofessional; He was unkept. He had an untamed longer beard that needed trimming and longer greasy hair. I felt like I was a burden to him and he didn’t want to be helping me.
