Dr. Mark James Bartiss, MD

My family member with a cancer diagnosis has been seeing Dr. Bartiss for a while now. He has offered her nonsensical hope with various non-credible, non-scientific remedies like hydrogen therapy, Meyer's injections, high-dose vitamin C injections, etc., etc. After a long time, my family member has not gotten better or improved in any way, and lost out on her life savings to Dr. Bartiss. I have gone to his office with my family member, and when we try to resist his new offers for more unproven remedies, he frequently gets angry. As a so-called wellness doctor, he seems to have some health issues. The question: why can't he cure his issues with his so-called natural remedies? None of the things he offers work, and he takes cash from all patients who turn to him as a last resort. Be careful, don't get talked into false hope by these quack doctor.

This “medical professional” wouldn’t know what decorum or bed side manor was if it slapped him in the face. Saw him a few times only to witness his despicable banter to his staff and personally fell prey to his chauvinistic manor. I would not recommend. He is also an anti vaxer which I understand is popular in this rural area but I don’t appreciate that from someone in the medical field. People called him a quack and I would have to agree. Seems to have some sort of hatred towards women and actual science.

Dr. Bartiss has some good traits. He knows his alternative medicine, and has a great sense of humor. But when it came to listening to me, he couldn't handle that I sent him a 6 page letter, followed by another letter a page and a half long, and told me to stop sending him "10 page letters." I had, what I felt was extremely important information regarding my health issues, which he had been unable to resolve, but he refused to even look at it. Sometimes a patient has important information that they have discovered, and the doctor should be open to looking at it! Dr. Bartiss is not that kind of doctor, unfortunately. He sent me a letter telling me that he was dumping me as his patient, which feels irresponsible to me, considering that I am in the middle of taking medications that he prescribed for me. When do I stop taking them? Or do I stop taking them? I will never know, because he has deleted me as his patient. I do want to say that his associate, Vickie was outstanding in every way.

If you wanna get disrespected go to this guy. Your trash to him ... cant even speak to the actual doctor. Could careless about you ...unless he's paid.

Dr. Bartiss helped me function after debilitating fibromyalgia and adrenal fatigue. I aligned with his theories and believed in them. That’s all connected. I’d recommend him highly.

I have never been so disappointed by a doctor who I thought was going to help me with my extreme hormone and other serious health issues. This doctor might be okay if you do not have serious health issues and are just using his complimentary therapies if you are an athlete or again do not have serious medical conditions, otherwise the doctor is completely useless and just from talking to him you can tell he just doesn't care at all. He has been nothing but a complete waste of time and money.

Doctor Bartiss, Thank you for taking so much time, explaining in layman’s terms, that I have Hosimoto’s, an autoimmune Disease that Dr. Rodriquez (Thyroid Specialist) who I recently saw, & doesn’t know I have. Also, I was unaware of my Iron being so low and it must be monitored by you because it’s dangerous if it gets to high. My Pellet Hormone Replacement, the vitamins that I specially need, I got from you & the pharmacy medication that is going to be delivered. Patricia Reo

Dr. Bartiss has helped my husband through many illnesses. He is thorough and he thinks outside the box. He will listen to your thoughts too.

I saw Dr. Bartiss for many symptoms I had. He suggested I take some supplements, and in addition to the supplements, he recommended I have a testosterone pellet inserted into my 'backside.' I went ahead with his recommendation and had the pellet inserted; about 3 weeks later, I began having clitoral pain that was so extreme that I went to the emergency room thinking something must be really wrong. The ER said I had swelling there, but they didn't see anything. I told them about the pellet, and asked them to take my testosterone levels. They did, and when I got the results back, they were off the charts for a woman my age--they were at a man's level. I contacted Dr. Bartiss and insisted he take the pellet out, as it was overdosing me, but he refused. He made me make an appointment to come into the office, and then prescribed me estrogen creme to put on my vaginal/clitoral area, which burned me to no end. He told me to find a local surgeon to take the pellet out, but… nobody I contacted was willing to take it out as they did not put the pellet in place. I ended up with more pain and was back in the ER for a second time, and the ER actually ultra sounded my backside and found the pellet. They would not take it out, but armed with a copy of the ultra sound, I found a doctor at a hospital in North Jersey who agreed to take the pellet out; however, due to the time it took to get the appointment and be seen, by the time I went to the doctor in North Jersey, they couldn't not actually see the pellet on ultra sound and so they could not take it out. IT had apparently dissolved (which it was not supposed to do). All along, after my visit to the hospital, my OBGYN took weekly hormone levels, and as my testosterone levels slowly decreased over a four month period, my estrogen levels increased to an off the chart reading. Apparently the testosterone converted to estrogen. AT that point, my periods which had been regular all my life, became very irregular. Dr. Bartiss still accepted no responsibility for any of this. I would never recommend him, as he thinks he knows everything and doesn't listen to his patients. Two years later (now), I am till having sensitivity in that clitoral area, though it has decreased. This doctor did not listen to me when I told him I needed the pellet out. I also was told my numerous doctors afterwards that I should have taken testosterone in another form initially instead of a pellet to be sure it worked for me. Also, I found out later that he put the pellet in so low that when I sat down, I was basically 'sitting' on the pellet which caused it to break up and emit the teosterone all at once. How could a doctor so 'experienced' make such a mistake? Every OBGYN I spoke to after that couldn't believe where he placed it and the dosage it was. I realize that mistakes can happen, but his 'know it all, that wasn't my fault' attitude was so wrong., especially when it was his fault. It certainly was not my fault. Do yourself a favor-don't take a chance, avoid this doctor.

He doesn't sugar coat anything. He'll tell you like it is. Super easy to talk to, spends time explaining things. He knows what he's doing when it comes to hormones and replacement therapy. I was getting pellets every three months. I recently moved to florida and I can't find anyone like him. Its been 6 months since pellets and I've gained weight, I can't sleep at night, I'm constipated...all the bad side effects of menopause that were there before I met Dr. Bartiss. I will be flying back to NJ for a visit very soon!
