Dr. Mark Gordon Boddy, MD

Doctor Boddy delivered my quads naturally. He respected that I wanted to have them naturally and made sure that I understood the necessary circumstances for it to happen. He is very knowledgeable and has tons of experience. He is very patient and gives his patients all of the essential information and answers all of your questions with confidence. I am so thankful that I was in the right place at the right time to experience this doctor. I would go to him again and again. Thanks Dr. Boddy!!!!

My husband and I went for an ultrasound at 24 weeks and found out that something was very wrong with our daughter. We were sent to Dr. Boddy to follow up and he did an ultrasound and let us know our daughter would not live and then gave us options. We wanted to carry our precious girl to term and he supported us and helped us every step of the way. He was very straight forward about our situation the whole time but also very caring. He is very busy yet took time with us always. Having him as our doctor through our pregnancy made a huge differnce and we praise God for this doctor.

Doctor Boddy saved little girls life. At first I have to say, I didn't like him. But it was only beacause he gave me horrible news saying my daughter wasn't going to make it and if she did she would be in a vegetative state and be brain dead. But all because of him. She is here today and doing wonderful. I would highly recommend him to anyone who has to go to a high risk pregnancy doctor.

I read reviews of other people before I went to see Dr. Boddy. I think you have to go and see it for yourself and then make your own opinion. We were able to schedule the appointment in no time. Even though we were 5 minutes late then took us in and we waited only for 5 minutes because of paper work. Doctor Boddy is really professional and gets to the point and doesn't go in circles. If you need explanation, he will draw the picture for you and explain everything clearly and the way you will be able to understand. We left with a good feeling and we would recommend this doctor to our friends.

I loved having Dr. Mark Boddy as my Perinatologist throughout my entire high-risk pregnancy! I wished I could have taken him with my family when we had to move to another state for my husband's job. I've been a type I diabetic for 15 yrs and knew that my pregnancy would be difficult but manageable with help. I knew it would possibly be hard to get pregnant and stay pregnant. Fortunately, with this prior knowledge I had the option of getting a pre-pregnacy consultation with Dr. Boddy to discuss my health and the issues that I would face during the that time. He was professional and helpful at all times. When I first got pregnant, I had fraternal twins, but lost one at 9 weeks. I started bleeding at 5am on a Sunday morning. Dr. Boddy met with me at his office, with one of his residents, at 8am for an ultrsound. Luckily, I was still pregnant with one baby and I counted that as a blessing. Although I continued to bleed for 3 wks, Dr. Boddy and his amazing staff took care of me and… made sure that my son was doing well. Then, I had another blow. My second quad screen came back positive for Trisomy 18. I needed an amniocentesis and had to make a quick decision. Dr. Boddy told me the news with me in the room and my husband on conference call. He took the time to answer all my questions and hugged me when I cried at the thought of losing my baby after birth. I knew the options, abort or caring my son for as long as possible. In no way shape or form did Dr. Boddy ever promote one decision over another. I had the amnio two days later and waited nervously for more than a week for the results. Praise God everything was okay. A screening test is a screen, not definitive and I knew the amnio would give me peace of mind, regardless of the result. I planned on loving my son for as long as God gave him to me. Then at 29 weeks I went into preterm labor and had to be admitted. Dr. Boddy and his residents (they have to learn too) were great and I got to go home. I continued to see him and his staff. They were like family! I had almost 20 ultrasound before my delivery. Dr. Boddy was great and respectful throughout it all. I had a delivery plan, I had met with a Bradley method dula before and Dr. Boddy respected my decision to try to go as naturally as possible. He did warn me for the pain as a first time mom, but I was stubborn. Unfortunately, my body and son said otherwise. After 14 hrs of labor and 2 vaccum extraction attempts, I had a c-section. My son was born healthy! I owe a lot to Dr. Boddy for walking me and my husband through the rollercoaster ride. For all those people who may see Dr. Boddy for a consult or high-risk evaluation. Remember this: Dr. Boddy is compassionate, but practical. It benefits no one to beat around the bush about complications or devastating news. He is blunt but thorough. Remember that his days are full of giving people bad news most of the time and that a lot of patients and families project their anger at the news onto him. Also remember that science is an art, not exact. Keeping this in mind may help you understand him a little bit. I rejoice that he decided to be a perinatologist and that I had the wonderful opportunity to be his patient. I hope my next perinatologist will be as incredible as him.

I wanted to write this comment in hope that it will help some unfortunate patents such as my husband and myself see this before listening to any advice given to them by Mark Boddy! I was a patient of Dr. Boddy 6 yrs ago after being referred by my ob with a problem with my 4th pregnancy. My husband and i had been trying for nearly a year to get pregnant with this baby, what unbeknown to us would be the most heart wrenching time of our lives! I am writing....not to discredit this dr but in hopes that it gives hope to some other parents. After being refered to Dr. Boddy by my ob my husband traveled to macon to seek help from this so called professional and top of his field. Upon arriving at the drs office, where we sat for hours on end.....we were escorted back to ultrasound.....the tech was very courteous and when the scan was over handed me a picture of our beautiful baby girl! Then we were escorted to a room where we waited for nearly 5 hours!!! yes that is right i said 5… hours....not minutes....HOURS! yes we knew something was wrong with our baby, but were told at our ob that he had just noticed a mass on the baby neck when he scanned her at his office...that was the reason for referring us to a "specialist". upon entering the room, Dr. Boddy reached out his hand and shook mine and said to me......"hello i am Dr. Boddy and you are about to have to make a decision that i dont envy you in." I fell to my chair.......he continued....."your baby has a condition called hydrops and is 90 to 100% fatal!" I fell to my knees.......i was 22 weeks pregnant at the time. His suggestion to us was to return the following morning and do an amnio and after which we introduce a needle into the babys heart...inject saline and abort the pregnancy and have me deliver her....which he said i would have to do naturally!!! If you have ever had a baby laid in your arms.....you know the love you feel.....to feel that warm bundle and the weight of your new baby in your arms! Everything that we had been planning for the last year had fallen down around us! We drove to my mothers in tears, where we knew we had three other little miracles waiting on us. We had to break the new to them....they at the time were 3.5, 7.5 and 12.5.......so you see they were old enough to understand the ramifications of this situation. Upon reaching my mothers, i carried my 3 children to my mothers room and sat them down on the floor. I explained to them that their baby sister was sick and would be too sick to live here with us and would have to go to live with God in Heaven......i was crying as i tried to explain them........suddenly my 3yo reached out and took my hand and said...."mama it will be ok....God will have a car seat for the baby!" At that time i decided that no doctor ....i dont care how educated could answer for God or me for that matter and he wasnt going to tell me what to do with this baby that i had so longed for....the baby that moved inside of me EVERYDAY! I returned to my regular ob and explained to him the situation and without a second thought he looked me in the eye and asked "what do you want to do?". I in turn said to him..."carry this baby to term and deliver." He said "ok, we will treat things as the come along.....he cried with me and hugged me and continued my visit. This is the reason for my story.............I have a little girl....her name is Rebecca and she is a gift from God! She is 6 years old now and started kgn in august! She is the light of our lives and the lives of many others. People say that you can look in her eyes and tell that there is something special about this child! A FACT THAT I KNEW FROM THE MOMENT OF CONCEPTION! You see.....i did return to Dr. Boddy......he did preform his amnio and a test called pubs...... AND FOUND NOTHING WHATSOEVER WRONG WITH THIS BABY HE WANTED TO ABORT!!!!! for 10 agonizing weeks my husband and i packed up the nursery and planned our daughters funeral......YES! only to find out that not the dr but God was in control.......................so please parents before you take the advise of this doctor.......dont give up!....dont end the life of your baby...there is only one person that can decide when a life is over and it isnt you and definitely not Mark Boddy!! Footnote.........Dr. Boddy had to admit he was wrong but not before nearly destroying my husband and me and not to mention my other children! He took 10 weeeks of our life away and the enjoyment of a last pregnancy! CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL EXPECTANT PARENTS AND NEVER....NEVER GIVE UP HOPE!!!
