My father in law had been a patient here for MANY, MANY years, specifically with Dr. Brandt. For fear of any legal retribution / retaliation, I WILL NOT state what transpired or anything that maybe construed as medical malpractice. However, I will say that WE ARE VERY UPSET THAT WE HAD TO REMOVE MY FATHER IN LAW OFF OF LIFE SUPPORT, WE ARE GRIEVING HIS DEATH TREMENDOUSLY, AND WE BELIEVE MY FATHER IN LAW SHOULD STILL BE ALIVE TODAY! Avoid this practice with your life!

Excellent care

Very rude. I’ve never had a Dr. make me cry, feel like an idiot, or question why I was even there. I left that visit feeling like I did something wrong and was shamed. He asked me how I got his name. Duh! How about the Internet and the fact that you have the longest BIO of any urologist out there, which resulted in my thinking this was the right decision. Said big fluffy BIO mentions female urology, so I think great! He ridiculed me for mentioning that in my explanation as to why I came to him. Wait... why was I even put in a position to need to explain that? Seemed to have a problem that I saw a partner 6 years ago and claimed he had done a magnificent job. How would you know? He just prescribed medicines, and I recall thinking he was rude also. The real help I got came from Loyola. However, the wonderful female Doc I had is no longer practicing. I recently began having some trouble again, thus seeking a new Doc. And here I got the 3rd degree for showing up in Brandt’s office. So… bizarre. Bedside manner is important to everyone, and I will walk away from a cold fish arrogant Dr., as I will this time as well. This uncaring Dr. missed something important that would explain my inflammation, had he not been in such a hurry to brush me off. When someone reiterates, “I’m not trying to get rid of you”, they’re trying to get rid of you. And no, the attempt to be humorous after insulting me fell flat. Not only because I’m already feeling vulnerable and embarrassed, but because you exude zero wit and real humor. Aka: not funny. So work on the bedside manner and your concern for patients, their feelings, and their pain and skip the attempted humor.

He saved my father’s life who was suffering from cancer. He is absolutely the best doctor!

I take care of my special needs brother. He has both intellectual and some degree of physical disability. It is often difficult to get an accurate description out of him regarding physical symptoms. He is friendly and cheerful and somewhat a boy in a man's body. So I do my very best to help him communicate how he is feeling as far as medical issues go. Dr. Brandt dismisses him and even made a snide remark under his breath at one visit to another staff member..he said "As if we're gonna get a straight answer out of him" Also same Dr. poked fun at me about how I pronounced one of my brother's prescribed meds and lastly since he has some very serious chronic conditions I thought as I do with all his Drs to give a short overall update of his general health..I was promptly cut short with a comment.."well that's not what we're here for.." Really?? Shouldn't you be informed if a current lab result shows an uptick in albumin in the kidneys? Perhaps because you are prescribing meds that may or… may not affect that? And this is a shame because the office is clean and well organized and all dealings with support staff always were pleasant.

Great Dr. he listens and gives you options. Is very through.

Dr. Brandt is funny and puts you at ease. I've been seen him about 3 times for Low-T and was a good listener. Not sure what others are saying, everyone has "bad" days either doctor or the patient. He has a great sense of humor and puts you at ease before he "puts the glove on" Dr. Brandt is very direct and if you don't like the facts up front, he may come across to harsh for those that want to hear what only makes them feel good.
