Dr. Mark George Carmichael, MD

Dr. Carmichael and his staff have gone the extra mile to care for me during a very trying time for most of us. My primary care physician actually referred to another hematologist in the same provider group that scheduled my first appointment 3 months out. I had a blood clot in my left leg, later diagnosed as superficial phlebitis and did not think it would be wise to wait 3 months without being treated or medication so Dr. Carmichael's office got me in right away. I was prescribed blood thinning medication and gradually saw improvement. My insurance would not pay for the labs needed, nor the medication for some odd reason so Dr. Carmichael and Desert Hematology provided a free sample the first round, and then facilitated a patient assistance program to pay for continuing medication. I had some labs done that my insurance would pay for, and was referred to WestPac labs for discounted labs my insurance would not pay for. Our current healthcare system is not at all user friendly and… really sticks it to the consumer. Dr. Carmichael and Desert Hematology understands this and provides alternatives for those of us who are on a budget. Nothing but praise for Dr. Carmichael and these medical professionals.
