Dr. Mark Frederick Doerner, MD

Dr. Doerner is an exceptional physician who on one or more occassions over the years has literally saved my life. I am a military pilot who was exposed to Agent Orange and my later years have seen numerous severe problems emerge. He has diagnosed and directed me to the right areas to get the proper treatment. Any of the negative reviews I see probably come from those patients who think they know more than he does. This fine doctor is nothing but a gentleman at all times and he is my internist for life. A good man who deserves my family's thanks. Strongly recommend.

I have been a patient of Dr. Mark Doerner's for many years, however, I should have left his practice years early. My dad passed away of leukemia almost 2 years ago and I became very interested in genetic testing and preventative care. He called these "tests" unnecessary as if they didn't matter or I didn't matter. He likes to talk over you quite a lot and really doesn't "hear" what you are trying to ask him. He already makes a judgment call on what he thinks your situation is going to be. I had to get a strep test done and I do have a gag reflex, however, he said to me, "We are not going to do the strep test again". He wouldn't do the swab test again. I found out that I do have a genetic mutation which was discovered by a genetic counselor. I would definitely recommend seeing a woman doctor, since they tend to listen more. He is probably getting ready to retire and didn't want more paper work on his desk to deal with. As far as his nurse, Bailey, it would take her forever and a day to… return my phone calls. By the way, I have switched to a female Primary Care Physician.

This Dr must be a joke.. He was very arrogant and extremely rude. Came into the room like his stuff does not stink.. Like we should be kissing the ground he walks on. I would NEVER recommend this Dr, not even to my worst enemy.

Dr. Doerner and his staff are wonderful! When I called to schedule the appointment I was told they try to schedule same day or next day for new patients and existing patients which was wonderful since anywhere else I called took weeks to even months to get in. Bailey, the nurse & front desk person helped me with the online forms and instructed me on what to bring to me initial visit. When I came into the office I was greeted nicely and waited maybe 10 minutes before Bailey pulled me back to get my blood pressure and weight. She then took me to the room and went over all of my medications with me very thoroughly and made sure and asked if there were any other questions I had for the doctor. Dr. Doerner was wonderful as well. He knew exactly what I was there for and addressed that at the appointment, he went over everything with me as well to make sure we had everything correct. He was very thorough and to me, is a great doctor who knows what he's talking about. I see people on here talk… about how he "toots his horn about being best doctor", I never heard that once.. Also, how he's "rude and has no bedside manner." That's ridiculous as well. I found my appointment to be with him very easy and straight forward plus his assistant was wonderful as well. I would highly recommend this doctor to anyone.

Dr Doerner was very rude. Did not appreciate his condescending tone. However his office staff was very nice. It's unfortunate they have to work for someone who treats patients with such disrespect. Will not be back.

My husband had an extensive eye injury and had to go in to see doctor to get the referral needed. Doctor referred him immediately and found an appointment for him but once he got to that appointment was told there was no referral. Therefore they would not see him. Called to try and get it sent immediately and nurse new nothing about it yet was the one to make the appointment! Horrible horrible . We will be switching doctors immediately and file a complaint. This delay could have cost my husband his sight!!!!

I felt I just had to go on here and write about my appointment yesterday with Dr Doerner After reading these reviews before my appointment. I have worked in clinics and witnessed many situations where people bash a doctor or do everything they can to hurt a doctors reputation just because they didn't get their drug of choice or the Doctor didn't do what they wanted or say what they want to hear. And I am so glad I went with my gut on giving Dr Doerner a chance. I felt so comfortable and he really listened to my problem and went over many different options as far as my plan of care. Someone wrote about how he would only address one problem and insist you make another appointment to go over anything else. That's so not true. I had several things going on and he addressed all of them. Not only that but I waited maybe 5 minutes total in the waiting room. then after Bailey who was also amazing got my vitals Dr Doerner was in the room with me within one minute. There was absolutely… no waiting hardly. After we finished he told me how great it was to meet me and how happy they were to have me and walked with me to the appointment desk. I not only feel like each and every possible thing going on with me was addressed. And trust me there were severAl. I feel like he knew exactly what he was talking about and very confident that he is giving me the best care I could possibly ask for! If your looking for a doctor who is respectful of you and your time and very knowledgeable this is the doctor to see!!!!!#

His bedside manner is horrible. He toots his horn about being voted best internal medicine doctor in Collin county but that is only decided by other doctors. This is in D-magazine. It's a vote by his doctor buddies not his patients. Visit him and you will know the truth. What a disappointing experience. I will not go back.

This guy is arrogant. I was kept waiting for 45 minutes for my annual physical. I was seeing him for the first time. He walked in with lab orders before I even saw him. He was upset that my husband was in the room with me. I asked to go to a different lab that the one he wanted and was told he only has an account with that lab. I said another lab would mail him the results. He said "I'm going to tell you one more time, I only use ......". That was his tone! Run from this guy. I'm a Med. Tech and have NEVER seen such a poor bedside manner as his.
