This doctor is an hour away from my house but was highly recommended by my pediatrican and friends. Called the appointment (888) number on website. Got put into an appointment cue. Got disconnected an hour later. Tried multiple times/numbers to call back and get an appointment. First human I got mumbled something and then "please hold" and put me on hold before I could say anything. Second time I got a human, I explained my situation and she said she could help me get an appointment, only to put me on hold for another 8-10 minutes. I hung up. If this is how they treat their prospective patients, imagine how they treat actual ones. I don't care how good you think you are. Courtesy and respect for your patients' time is important. I spent almost two hours trying to get an appointment. Will go elsewhere now.

I went to get my daughter a second opinion on a brain scan . This doctor was condescending and rude . He implied my daughters headaches were psychosomatic , made a lot of assumptions about her and was not reassuring . He maybe is getting burnt out and taking his frustrations out on families and children causing more harm than good . Maybe he need to retire or get a personal psychiatrist to deal with his issues

He charged over $300 for a 15 minute first appointment with our autistic 5 year old. He gave no advice, except off offhandedly remarking that he might need medication some day if he struggles in school...thanks Dr. Obvious. Absolute waste of time and money. We regret it entirely.

Dr. Epstein is not a typical "pediatric" doctor, in the sense of his bed side manner. He was WONDERFUL with my child, but horrible with me. I don't think it's anything personal, he is a very busy man and wants to get straight to the root of the problem. His diagnosis of my daughter was very accurate, as well as the suggested treatment. I'm glad I didn't waste my time going elsewhere. He is an extremely intelligent man, just needs to drop the condescending tone.

My regular pediatrician sent me to Dr. Epstein in December. I was then given a referral and called to set up an appointment. When I called I was told that the dr would not be able to see my son until March. I took the appointment just to get something locked down. So, we wait and wait and wait. Finally, my son's appointment date rolls around. We take him out of school early and drive a tired little boy over to the office. We arrive more than 30 minutes early as instructed by his staff the day before. We checked in and I gave the receptionist all of our insurance info and the referral that we were given by our pediatrician. The receptionist told me that even though the referral had the correct name of the dr we were seeing that the address was not correct. She then informed me that I had 20 minutes to get that faxed over of my appointment would be canceled. I rushed to my cell phone and tried calling my son's pediatrician to get it changed. Finally, about 10 minutes before my son's… appointment was due to be canceled I got my peds office to change the address and they said they would fax it over within 5 minutes. I then went up to the front to start filling out the regular paper work. The rude receptionist looked at me and said, "you have 1 minute". So, I took the paper work and sat down. I explained to her that I had been trying to get the address changed for over an hour. She saw me sitting on the phone struggling to get the address changed on the referral. I walked up there to return my paper work and she stated that my appointment had been canceled and that Dr. Epstein REFUSED to see my son. At that point I walked out and will never see this dr. again. I will also make sure that no one that I know will go see him either. This is not a dr. that needs to be seeing children. Save yourself some time and go see another dr.

I was extremely disappointed this appt. We spent months waiting to see this Dr.I recently moved over form the West Coast of Florida. We had a wonderful Neuro over there. He spent time with my son, got to know my son, and took time with his diagnosis. We spent a total of 10 minutes with Dr. Epstein. He barely spoke with my child, performed a very basic evaluation and said he was misdiagnosed, he never looked at any prior records or results. Dr .Epstein stated they did not matter. He was rude and abrubt. When I asked him about services that my child could get {OT, PT,} he said the school should be doing that. This was the most disappointing appt. I have ever had, and the worst part of it all was the fact that my child was in the room to see it all. Shame on you Dr. Epstein.

I went to Dr. Epstein given experience, credentials, and close location to my home. Unfortunately, none of the reasons I went are working in my favor. When I asked about medication options other than what he was prescribing, he was curt, short, and seemed annoyed that I would even ask. It's impossible to get a follow-up call even after he promises one, instead I get a call back from an unknowledgeable staff member who can't answer questions about my child's medication or condition. Agree with other review indicating poor bedside manner. Gives 2-word answers to any questions, always appears bothered, rushed, or unapologetic. I've toughed it out because we've been going to see him so long, but thinking about changing. If you are in early stages of searching for pediatric neurologist, I suggest looking elsewhere.
