Dr. Mark Steven Ercius, MD

This dr did surgery on a herniated disc a few years ago. I lost the use of my right arm after surgery. I had physical therapy for 5 months. The scar on the back of my neck is awful. He is a terrible doctor. Stay away from him.

We were recomended to Dr. Ercius by a PCP for my husband back issues. Each time we went there prior to the surgery we waited for a minimum of one hour before being seen. After the initial consultation when he stated he could do the back surgery needed to fix his back and he would be back to work and functioning at 100%. Fast forward 3 years my husband is now on disability, and we have been told by 2 additional surgeons, that he would need at least 2 more surgeries to fix the first surgery, and that could potentially eliminate some of the chronic pain, but not allow him full function of his back. After the surgery, when we went to the follow up appointments with Ercius, and my husband told him he was still in serious pain, his response was, "well you shouldn't be, I have to leave for a class". He has no bedside manner, he is rude and could CARE LESS about what happens to his patients once he received his fat insurance check.

Despite what the other overly sensitive, needy patients say, Dr. Ercius is a great doc and highly experienced. And he's the best around.

Dr. Ercius operated on my wife when she was 7 months pregnant. She had a bulging disc and could only crawl around the house for the previous 3 months. He also operated on my Father In Laws back and did a great job. He is one of the best surgeons around.

I don't care how good of a surgeon this Dr is because with that personality he should NOT be practicing medicine. He kept me waiting for 50 minutes and then treated me very poorly the entire appt. I did not know a doctor could be so rude!

I'd like to say that he is an egotistical, pompous a$$, but let's just say that if you are looking for a surgeon who has a personality and that will do the surgery correct the first time, you may want to look elsewhere.

I was in a lot of pain from the spinal stenosis I had. Dr Ercius was matter of fact about what I had and what needed to be done. No frills or warm fuzzies but I wasn't going to marry the guy, just wanted to get my back fixed which he did. I am 2+ years out, have lost a ton of weight because I can exercise..even Zumba! would recommend this if you need back surgery if you want a doctor that will tell it like it is!

I have seen many doctors in my 54 yrs and went to see this doctor for a severe neck problem. Uncaring,unprofessional,horrible bedside manner,disrespectful are just some words that come to mind. Unwilling to answer questions and seems more caring if you will like him, which is so hard to do. Thought perhaps he had a bad day, until I saw him the 2nd time. Happy to announce, I found an incredible doctor after I walked out of his office. In my opinion, please see a doctor who wants to help you and is willing to explain, be caring,show respect and dignity towards their patients. Unfortuantley, this is not the doctor.
