Dr. Mark J. Fesler, MD

We were referred to Dr. Mark Fesler at SLU by my Oncologist of two years, Dr. Mary Klix to be re-evaluated for CML and a possible, future bone marrow transplant. We were met by friendly, smiling faces at every stopping point from the reception area, to testing, the lab, Nurse who we really liked, to the Residents and medical students. Very professional, nice young people. Then, we met Dr. Fesler, who welcomed us and treated us with kindness, respect and dignity. I had asked him to be honest with me about the risks and possible outcomes of a transplant and he was very honest with my husband and I. He did a thorough exam, asked all of the appropriate questions and told us of his plans, We have seen him a few times since and we get more acquainted with each visit. We find him to be extremely knowledgeable on the subject of cancer, treatment and transplant, and he is very re-assuring with my anxious questions and has researched my past, confusing medical history. We are now in the… process of being prepared for a bone marrow transplant within the next 3-6 months, once a proper donor has been found. SLU has been working with us as professionals, but in a kind, friendly manner and we are very pleased with Dr. Mark Fesler and feel comfortable being his patient. Although I am extremely nervous about this procedure, he continues to explain everything to us and reassure us that this is the best possible outcome for my medical condition. I feel Blessed that Dr. Klix chose Dr Fesler for me and my husband and I intend to stay with him as long as necessary to get through the planned treatment and/or transplant. I would highly recommend Dr Fesler and his staff to those I truly care about.
