I had the great privilege to work with Dr. Mark Goan in the surgical setting, as I am an operating room nurse with 25+ years of experience. I must say he is one of the best plastic surgeons I've witnessed in action. Not only with his knowledgeable surgical skill , but with the honest way he cares about his work and most importantly his patients. Trust me, this man will go the extra mile. I am very greatful for what he has shown and taught me. I highly recommend this surgeon!

I was diagnosed with DCIS last fall and was provided a list of breast oncological surgeons while at the imaging center. It is a very daunting task selecting a surgeon (putting yourself in the care of a stranger) given the scary situation I found myself in and with minimal knowledge about breast cancer, the varying stages, diagnosis â??languageâ??, and treatment options. I was very fortunate to have found my oncological breast surgeon at Breastlink Laguna Hills, Dr. Lisa Curcio. During one of my consultations, we discussed IORT (Intra Operative Radiation Therapy) as part of my treatment and the effects I could expect from the lumpectomy and radiation. We discussed the option of oncological reconstruction surgery immediately following the lumpectomy â?? and she also asked me if I had considered having breast reduction surgery (I had very large, heavy breasts). I was introduced to Dr. Mark Gaon who is a breast reconstruction/plastic surgeon and part of the Breastlink team. I have to… admit that I was a bit nervous about the surgery â?? Iâ??ve always been really healthy and no medical issues so this was all new to me. After my consultations with Dr. Gaon I quickly felt the comfort and trust you need to have with your doctor. He has a very straightforward, professional, and confident manner that really put me at ease and I knew that I was in good hands. My surgery went very well and I am extremely pleased with the result! My posture has improved, Iâ??m no longer having issues with neck and shoulder pain, and my upper back is now flat where there used to be that neck â??bumpâ?? between my shoulders. I am very grateful for having found Dr. Gaon and being provided with the information about my reconstruction options. I would recommend Dr. Gaon â?? and the Breastlink team â?? to ANY FRIEND OR FAMILY MEMBER and trust that they are in the best possible careâ?¦. and I already have. It is not enough to say that he is a talented surgeon; he is a gifted artist (and a very sweet person).
