Dr. Mark A Godecki, MD

I was born in Poland. I was raised in Cracow, Poland. I graduated from high school and continued my education at Jagiellonian University College of Medicine with an MD degree in June of 1970. I was the President of my medical class for several years. I received a scientific scholarship for the last several years of medical school.

I met my wife, Ewa, who was a student of Stomatology Department. We got married in Cracow in 1968.

I performed a rotating internship in a municipal hospital. In 1973, we moved to the United States to join my family in Brooklyn, NY. I performed a rotating internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. Upon graduation in 1979, I joined Medical Arts OB/GYN here in Utica, NY. I have been board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology since 1981. I became involved in the Medical Staff leadership at Faxton St. Luke’s Hospital. I had the honor of serving as the Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and …Gynecology at St. Luke’s Memorial Hospital. I also served as the President of the Medical Staff, and a member of the Board of Trustees of the hospital. I am a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and a member of many professional organizations.

I have enjoyed caring for my patients here in the Mohawk Valley for over 30 years. I have delivered thousands of babies. At the present time, my professional practice is directed toward gynecological care.

My wife, Ewa, is a dentist in Utica, NY. My daughter, Marta, is currently a law student in California. I have many hobbies including swimming, competition sailing, fishing, biking and backpacking. In the wintertime I enjoy downhill skiing.
