Dr. Mark Wallace Gujer, MD

Dr. Gujer is a Board Certified (ABA) Anesthesiologist and currently serves as the Director of Peri-operative services and as the Chairman for the Department of Anesthesia at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center. A native of Duluth, Dr. Gujer most recently comes to us from upstate New York where he served as the Chairman of Anesthesia at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Dr. Gujer received his undergraduate training at the University of Minnesota-Duluth and his Doctoral degree was obtained at the University of Minnesota-Minneapolis. Specialty training in Anesthesiology was obtained at the University of Rochester in 1998. Dr. Gujers professional interests include; advances in post-operative acute pain management, resuscitative medicine for the trauma patient and advancements in the intra-operative monitoring of patients using ultrasound. Dr. Gujers start in the medical field was as a Paramedic so the training of emergency medical services personnel remains a passion of his. He also served 6 …years in the Army Reserves as a medic. Dr. Gujer is a member of the American Medical Association, American Society of Regional Anesthesia, American Society of Cardiac Anesthesia and the American Society of Anesthesiology. He shares his personal interests and love of rural living along with his wife and two children in Ironton.
