Dr. Mark William Hamblin, MD

He shouldn’t be practicing. Suspect he has OCD. He doesn’t seem to be able to ever make a vigorous decision on medications. He will interview endlessly, ask very personal questions that are irrelevent to the Meds Evaluation, and when he does go ahead - on rare occasions - with a needed medication, he’ll proscribed only a minimum dosage. As a result, the Patient will never know if the medication could have work. In addition, he doesn’t ever advocate for the Patient with the Pharamacist. Avoid Dr. Hamlin or you’ll remain untreated, and extremely frustrated because he doesn’t know how to help - only how to frustrate the Patient until he finally gives up seeking treatment.

Suprised he is still at VA because Dr Hamblin is excellent. He stays current, and involved in research and will discuss rationale for treatment or non-inclusion and considers other medical issues for best outcomes. Best of all he considers the unusual side effects and correctly diagnosied akathesia, not anxiety as side effects of SSRI that had been prescribed for me for over 10 years. Astute, thoughtful doctor that really makes a difference.
