Dr. Hasenauer did a total knee replacement of both of my knees 3 and a half months apart (mid-November 2024 and late February 2025) using ROSA (robotic surgical assistant). Not only have I been impressed with my recovery, but so have many other people who have had total knee replacements done the “conventional” way. I was driving myself to physical therapy 6 days after my left knee was replaced and walking 30 minutes a day, 3 times a week, on a treadmill before and after physical therapy. I never used a walker or a cane. I was able to resume driving in less than 2 months and jogging in just a little over 3. Because my right knee was on my driving leg, it took me a little longer to be able to drive, but I was jogging in less than 3 months. I also needed only 6 weeks of physical therapy for each knee. I highly recommend Dr. Hasenauer for anyone considering a total knee replacement. He is a great listener and I felt very comfortable with him during my first visit. He is also a very… skilled surgeon and very adept at using ROSA. I would be remiss if I did not give a shoutout to the entire Medstar team. This includes his PA Jennie Dulan, the nurses in the Annapolis surgery center, the physical therapists who I met with shortly after surgery, and especially the surgery scheduler “Debbie.” All of them were very professional and very pleasant to deal with.
