Dr. Mark Edward Haverkorn, MD

Took appt. at Sequin office for 1st available appt for jawbone lesion. Staff not up to speed with insurance requirements and extremely slow to follow up. Took 2 weeks to get1st PA for MRI. Dr. received results 5-4. He did not contact me with findings. Told front office to schedule biopsy. 6-5 I still had had not contact with office staff or Dr. Called 6-5 was told they were checking on PA for biopsy??? 1 month for a PA? Plus I have Metlife and 2 PPO medical insurances. Office Manager apologized and informed me Dr was unavailable to speak with me but she could book my procedure! Seem much more interested in getting paid that providing appropriate patient care and needed clinical conversation.

Dr. Haverkorn made it very clear from the onset of my appointment that he was not interested in my case - which has the unlikely but real potential to become a complex issue though I had shared with his office staff when I made the appointment what the issue was. He made a disparaging remark about my referring dentist as an opening to our appointment. I had to ask a series of questions to obtain what information I did receive - mostly as he stood by the door suggesting that I find a DDS who would be willing to do the required difficult, disfiguring surgeries that could be needed for follow up. I am fully funded, healthy, educated (PhD RN) and careful about my health so there would be no economic or compliance issues to avoid. While I appreciate the honesty of this exchange (I won't follow you so go elsewhere) he was rude, minimally engaged and dismissive. I would not want to be treated on an ongoing basis by someone not interested or comfortable with the work and I recognize his… right to do work he prefers or is comfortable with but this exchange for me reflects much more than that in terms of his approach to clients and their needs, concerns, etc.
