Dr. Hazuka earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics from Creighton University in Omaha, NE and his Medical Degree from Creighton University School of Medicine. Dr. Hazuka completed his Internship from the Department of Internal Medicine and his Radiation Oncology Residency from Presyterian/Saint Luke's Medical Center in Denver, CO. Dr. Hazuka treats all disease sites, but has a special interest in prostate cancer and prostate brachytherapy. He was the first radiation oncologist to bring prostate brachytherapy to southern Colorado in 1998. Since that time, Dr. Hazuka has performed over 350 prostate brachytherapy procedures. These include both low dose-rate (LDR) and high dose-rate (HDR) brachytherapy treatments. Dr. Hazuka has published 29 scientific articles regarding the use of radiation therapy in peer reviewed medical journals and has written 5 book chapters. Dr. Hazuka was selected by his peers as one of the Best Doctors in America. He is a member of the American Society of Theraputic Radiation Oncology, American Society of Clinical Oncology, and Colorado Medical Society. Dr. Hazuka has three children ages 17 - 24. He enjoys skiing, cycling, hiking, and golf.
