I grew up …in Brooklyn, N.Y. I graduated with a business degree and immediately went to work for Union Carbide Corporation, handling government contracts. I became restless and needed a greater challenge, so I left the company in 1970, after almost 2 years, and returned to school part-time so I could accumulate the necessary requirements for dental school. In 1972 I began my journey on this new road ... and never looked back.
I started practicing in Washington, D.C. in 1977, first downtovvn on 19th Street, N.W. and then on M Street, N.W., until 1990. I went to a small community in Southern Maryland called Solomon's Island to buy a boat. I bought the boat, fell in love with this quaint waterfront town, sold my practice in D.C., moved to Solomon's and, again, ... never looked back. I live with my wife and our dog in a lovely home on a peaceful knoll overlooking a beautiful creek in Mechanicsville, Md. I love my home, practicing dentistry and living life. I enjoyed practicing in Leonardtown, in St. Mary's County, from 1990 to 2010.
Now, at this point in my life, I have chosen to open a new practice in La Plata, Md. because I realize that I am not ready to retire from dentistry or to stop helping those requiring good dental care. I believe in living this life to the fullest and have seen how beautiful, healthy smiles can positively affect people's lives. So begins my next adventure!!

Terra Colliflower
Hello, my name is Terra Colliflower.
I was born and raised in St. Mary's County, Md. I presently live in Bushwood on
Whites Neck Creek with my husband, Josh of 7 years. We have a son, named Cody
who is 5 years old and a daughter, Brooke who is 3 years old. I have always loved
spending time with my family and friends. When I attended high school I studied
child care because I enjoyed children. After babysitting for family and working for
the New Generation Day Care Center I knew I wanted a career serving people.
Dr. Hochman was our family dentist and during an appointment my mom asked
him to give me a job. Lucky for me, she talked him into it. As a senior in high
school, I'd take morning classes at Chopticon and then train to be a dental
assistant with Dr. Hochman in the afternoon. Dental care was quite different
from child care, but I soon developed a passion for it. I love interacting with my
patients and making them smile.
Healthy, pretty teeth add to the smile and Dr. Hochman and I work hard to
acquire this for our patients. We were a team in Leonardtown for eleven years
and plan to continue our journey in LaPlata. We look forward to treating you
there and we'll give you something to SMILE about!
