Dr. Mark Allen Hoitink, MD

Very unprofessional staff. They do not return phone calls. Waited over two weeks for the doctor to review a CT scan that he ordered. Had to call at least 7 times before they would send a referral to a specialist. I've never had to work so hard and fight so much for anything healthcare related (and I've dealt with the VA).

Mark Hoitink was my PCP for three years. He is always thorough in his examinations and takes time to listen to what you have to say. I often find that doctors diagnose you when you walk in the room and then disregard whatever you have to tell them: Hoitink is not this way. My only complaint is that his staff are unprofessional and incompetent. I've been called by his staff asking me how and what files are needed by a specialist/ insurer. More than once!

Doctor is fine. The receptionists needs to get it figured out. When a patient calls I would think she would be helpful. Instead she is lost.

I've worked in a doctors office before, reality is they are going to talk about the patient. Whether it's good or bad the entire staff will be speaking about you. Dr. Hoitink and his nurses like to talk about there patients and don't care if they here. I realize I do not make the best choices, but that does not give you the right to make fun of me. If you're going to talk sh*t at least wait until I leave your office or shut the room I am waiting in. I've heard them speak about a patients as they are walking by. I do not need to know that the lady waiting next to me is telling you she might have herpes or gential warts. I do not need to here to get that she has some kind of bumps and that's gross. Who are you to judge someone? Doesn't matter what they choose to do with there life its not you they are hurting. Also people who are over weight, your staff isn't that fit either. So don't make fun of them and call them lazy. If I could prove how much you and your nurses break hippa rules. I… would like for all of you to have the state come down on you.

I contacted this doctors office and his staff informed me that this doctor has to first look at my information (they wanted medication i take over the phone) to decide if he will take me as a new patient or not. That seems to me he is picking and choosing who he is accepting as new patients. His staff informed me that he must evaluate my information. That is how he works. If he is picking and choosing his clients he should not be on the list as accepting patients. Specially if his staff cannot even make decisions for him. This phone call to his office was very strange. I could go as far a suggesting his is selecting his clients and discriminating against others. I did not feel comfortable with that phone call. That is how the phone call made me feel about this physician

My review is for Dr. Hoitink and his staff/office. I've been going to Dr. Hoitink for years and I'm sad to say I'm now looking for a new doctor. Dr. Hoitink is a friendly, nice enough guy but as a doctor, he is far from the best. He talks about his patients loud enough in the hall for everyone to hear, which is very unprofessional, and doesn't follow basic cleaning and sterilizing procedures that most medical offices are required to follow. His medical assistants are unprofessional and also disregard basic cleanliness procedures that they are supposed to do. You will rarely see a doctor or medical assistant wash or sanitize their hands before and after working with patients. This is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. Also, they do not regularly wipe down the exam tables between patients. I asked about this and was shocked about how careless and unprofessional a medical office could be. Keep yourself and your family safe and go somewhere else!

I've been seeing Dr. Hoitink for about 5 years now. Listens attentively and takes patient preference into consideration. Never felt like he was pushing pills on me, very much the opposite many times (which I like). Knowledgeable and honest in his diagnosis. I consider him one of the better doctors I have had in my life of 42 years and will continue to see him.

Doctor Hoitink is a mediocre doctor. Not the best doctor I've seen, but not the worst. He could be a lot more sympathetic. He seems to want to prescribe medications as a solution to everything, without exploring other options. The wait is not the best, either and when you finally see him, you feel rushed. I'm not very impressed and will be seeing another doctor who is more knowledgeable. I don't believe there are any actual nurses that work in his small office. I think there is just one CNA. You can get in for an appointment the week you call to schedule it, but it seems like you don't get a lot accomplished during the appointment. I'm usually left confused and don't receive clear answers to my questions. I'm dissapointed in how I've been treated and will not be going back to Dr. Hoitink.
