After going to an ENT doc in Myrtle Beach and being very dissatisfied my general practitioner referred me to Dr. Hoy for assistance. I had been dealing with throat and neck problems for almost a year. Dr. Hoy was very patient, calming and explained my illness in a way that made sense and helped me understand how to best treat my illness. After two visits and following his prescriptions and advice my situation is greatly improved. Thank you for taking care of your patients in a caring manner!

I don’t write reviews, but THIS calls for an exception! I sensed this physician didn’t care for me for some reason from the outset. But, I was horrified and insulted when he said he thought I was making up the symptoms I had been suffering for 3 months, followed by, “I believe YOU believe it.” While he said I had been treated inappropriately for the past 3 months, he said he couldn’t help me and all but threw me out. Desperate to feel better, when I asked for a recommendation of where to turn, he couldn’t/wouldn’t help. His tech told me to pray. As a retired medical professional, if I hadn’t experienced it myself I would not have believed it.

Dr. Hoy and his staff were very helpful and thoroughly explained the procedure my 10 year old would undergo. He helped to make her comfortable and less afraid. Dr. Hoy kept me informed on all things that my child would experience on that day. My only complaint is that there wasnt a follow up call the day after the procedure. I would reccommend him as great physician.

If you're seeking a doctor who is patient and kind, Dr. Hoy is not this. His response to my hearing and sinus concerns was as though he was reading from a script oft repeated. When I attempted to interject with additional info to personalize his response to my medical history he cut me off by telling me (three times)I had repeatedly interrupted him and I needed to stop talking and listen. I left his office in tears. Any possible defense in his favor, I was 20 minutes late for this appointment due to GPS error which I apologized for. I could not call his office directly with my situation because calls to his office are routed through the central appointment desk at MUSC.
