terrible bed side manners. just horrible attitude. i told him my shoulder hurt he started jerking arm around causing extreme pain. on another occasion i said i cant sleep he said we all have problems.

Dr Irvin is a very caring Doctor who wants to help his patient In every way If you are interested in Helping yourself then he will gladly assist He doesn’t seem to be the kind of Doctor who will tolerate a patient that is not compliant with his own health He seems to take his job very seriously and Is very responsible for all his patients needs so glad the VA has some one like him in the field of medicine

I'm not sure which is worse. His foul personality or his pathetic lack of medical skills. He will tell you one thing to your face and enter things totally opposite in your record. Veterans beware! If any of you vets stick up for this guy I feel as sorry for you as I do for him for being a pathetic excuse for a doctor.

Needs to learn how to be respectful! Pitiful attitude!

I am a 63-yr-old permanently and totally disabled veteran. I have endured a severe chronic pain condition due to spinal injuries incurred in military service. This condition is degenerative and will NEVER improve. In fact, it has grown substantially MORE severe, painful and incapacitating over time. I also have substantial neurological difficulties, stroke issues, and a substantial heart condition which are affected by the chronic pain. The medications I have been prescribed for the past 12 years are well within standard medical guidelines. Recently IRVIN ARBITRARILY-- WITHOUT EXAMINING MY RECORDS OR DISCUSSING THE SITUATION WITH SPECIALISTS -- REDUCED my lo..longstanding pain management medications to "taper down" the medications... for conditions which gradually INCREASE in severity. The reduced medications have caused ENORMOUS increase in my chronic pain and made it nearly impossible for me to perform most normal activities. IRVIN SHOULD BE FIRED FOR CAUSE BY THE VA AND HAVE HIS… MEDICAL LICENCE PERMANENTLY REVOKED. HE SHOULD ALSO BE PROSECUTED CRIMINALLY AND SUED IN CIVIL COURT. HE IS A DISGRACE!!! incurred during military

Dr Irvin is a great Doctor. He tells it like it is. Does beat around the bush Dr Irvin is very concerned about ones health problems He will help in any way to help you achieved Good health But if your needing a Doctor for pain management he first tries to find what the underlin pain is coming from then creates a individual plan for you to follow But on the other hand If u are wanting a Doctor to give you a boat load of pain pills with no questions asked. No test run no physical therapy done then he is not the doctor to go to Only go to him if you are really serious in good health and he also is good at managing all health problems He does manage pain For his patients But he always got to the root of my problem and found out what was causing the problem Thanks to him. I am now pain free With taking pain medication So I give him a A+++

This Dr is not only incompetent he has no business treating veterans. I'm a Marine Vietnam combat veteran and I was having a good day when I showed up for an appointment... I am rated 50% disabled for PTSD and within the first minute of the appt we were in an adversarial and combative relationship... At one point I took a deep breath and implored that we do a reset and start this appt from the beginning and he said ok and within 30 seconds he was back to attacking me for asking for a consult to a nephrologist for high blood pressure issues after having a part of my left kidney removed at St Louis VA for kidney cancer. I had been advised by my urloogist's nurse to request this since my regular doc had just retired. Dr Irvin was outraged and accused me of trying to tell him how to do his job... THIS GUY HAS MENTAL ISSUES AND HAS NO BUSINESS IN THE VA OR ANYWHERE ELSE.

Dr Irvin was very prompt and seemed very concerned about my well being.... very courteous and a great bedside manor... . just a follow up for my on going diabetes... No there to seek pain medication

Didn't take the time to listen to my complaints. All I heard was, "You are taking too much pain medication.......blah, blah, blah" "You need to be weaned off your medication.......blah, blah, blah". Did NOT know one thing about my condition and never took the time to even bother to look it up. His "bedside manner" obviously sucked. Didn't understand my condition is progressive and not "regressive", there is NO cure for it.
