Dr. Mark M Johnston, DDS

Had to write a review after seeing how low and how few have done so. I have had nothing but positive experiences with both Dr. Johnston, Mary, and his staff. I've been seeing him for almost 35 years and continue to do so, when I can, when I'm in town.

I have decided not to be a patient of Dr. Johnston any longer. I don't trust him. I have not felt like he cared about me as a patient, nor was his approach collaborative. After all, he is the dentist, and he makes decisions for the patient that make sense to him. He just wants to do the job and not teach or inform. As a patient, I should just oblige. He appears to do work that could be done in one appointment by not scheduling enough time. This way he can get you in for another appointment. $$$ When I went to confirm an appointment time, his office told me my next visit would include me getting a new crown. This was never communicated with me, but he did put it on his chart. This is a cost of around $800His office told me I needed a new crown that would cost me over $800 when that wasn't ever discussed. $$$ When I questioned my concern about a filling he did, he didn't listen - he just wanted to defend himsefl. So if you're someone who doesn't care about how much money you spend… at the dentist, don't want to participate in your own health decisions, and not have your doctor listen to you, then he's the dentist for you.

Dr Johnston is a great dentist. He always uses state of the art equipment and procedures. He fees are in line with the competition.
