Dr. Mark Harold Johnston, MD

I had gone to Dr. Johnston for an undiagnosed condition. He ordered tests and had them performed on me, but he was unable to diagnose my problem. I then found an opportunity to get into the NIH (National Institute of Health) at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Mass, but I needed a reference letter from Dr. Johnston. I wrote and asked for the reference going on 5 months ago now, and nothing. No concern for a patients health. The NIH won't take me without a reference letter as to what tests have already been done, and what, if anything, has been found. I still suffer greatly from the condition, but cannot get this belligerent doctor to write a letter of reference for me. It's as though it's an ego thing with him. If he can't find it, he doesn't want to find out that maybe some other doctor(s) can find it. I have no recourse other than looking into a medical malpractice suit, which I am doing at this time. You have to pick at least one star to be able to rate this guy and get… the review out there, but in reality, if they had 0 stars, that's the rating I would have given him. If you call and make an appointment there, I would steer clear of him and ask for another doctor, as he obviously doesn't have his patients care in mind as to their best interest. 0 stars.

Everything went well during this visit. I was able to be taken in early due to a cancellation, which was nice. The nurse got the IV in the first attempt, which doesn't seem to happen too often with me. Dr Johnston visited after the procedure and gave me an accurate assessment of how things looked. A very efficient practice.

Dr. Johnston is an outstanding physician who goes beyond and above what is required. He is always willing to try to fit you into his busy schedule and always tries to treat the person not just the symptoms.

The staff at Lancaster Gastroenterology is wonderful, from the receptionist who greets you to the physicians that treat you. I feel valued as a patient.

I was impressed with the facility, staff, procedure, and after care. I would recommend this facility to anyone. I could not find any fault with anything or anyone. Excellent experience.

My experience for excellent. I want to say how much I appreciated the nurse who put in the IV. I think her name is Cheryl. I've had her before and so has my husband and she is TERRIFIC!!!! So personable. Hope I gave credit to the right person although everyone involved was great.

Very professional and organized from check-in thru to procedure and recovery. Highly recommend this team.
