Dr. Mark Allen Jones, MD

Mark A. Jones, MD, FACS, was born in Johnson City, Tennessee, and received his undergraduate degree from East Tennessee State University (ETSU) in Johnson City, graduating with highest honors. Dr. Jones received his medical degree from the Quillen College of Medicine at ETSU and completed his general surgery residency training at Prisma Health/University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia, where he also completed his fellowship training in surgical critical care.

An active member of the Prisma Health Richland Hospital acute care surgery/trauma team, Dr. Jones holds a clinical professor appointment with the University of South Carolina Department of Surgery. He is board certified in general surgery and surgical critical care by the American Board of Surgery, and he is active in many local, state and national organizations including the American College of Surgeons. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and has interests in all areas of general …surgery, trauma surgery, surgical critical care and acute care surgery. He currently serves as Physician Executive for Prisma Health Richland Hospital and Vice Chair of Operations for the Department of Surgery.
