Dr. Mark Z Karabajakian, DO

My husband had an appointment for a stress test. Once he arrived, they gave him the informed consent form to sign without explaining it. He struck out part of that form because he didn’t quite understand everything the form was covering. He asked for more information about what they were going to inject him with and how it might react in his body. After voicing his concerns, the staff explained the procedure but did not verbally go over risks, had no information about the injection drug or other less risky procedures that could be done. The doctor was not available. While this was going on, there were paramedics in the room in case something happened during the test and another person sitting in the waiting room with an IV port waiting for the test. My husband was told it would take 3 hours or so before he would be able to leave because several people were coming in for the test that day. Since he wasn’t comfortable, the staff went to their staff attorney to see if they could… do it with a portion of it scratched out and their staff attorney said no. The combination of the paramedics, people sitting in the waiting room with ports, seeing the risks written down for the first time and attorney interaction really unnerved him so he refused to sign the form as-is because it said he was satisfied with his understanding of the risk and willing to go forward. He did sign it with a part scratched out but they wouldn’t accept it. They sent him home and two days letter we received a certified letter terminating him as a patient. I think they should have gone over the informed consent form - procedure risks, benefits and alternatives - prior to his appointment so he could think about it at home and call the office with any questions. All-in-all, not a good patient experience and we wouldn’t recommend this facility.

His attitude must have fallen off during this last year. I love my wife and was very concerned when he blew off all her appointments 4 times after her stroke. He did not explain anything and outside the hospital had no bedside manner or compassion. He just dropped my wife as a patient when I showed concern and said I would complain to the hospital he he cancelled the 4th appointment in a row. Never once asked how she was doing (where is the compassion in that, for her or her family?) Poor communication for the office as well, we waited an hour before the 3rd appointment was cancelled with no phone call. When I said I was going to report him, he cancelled the last appointment saying he did not like to be threatened, and also implied he wanted to fight or something...

Dr Karabajakian is the best cardiologist out there! His beside manner is outstanding, he truly listens and makes you feel like family. I can’t say enough about him and his staff- top notch! I love his Nurse Practioner, Katelyn Bonvolanta as well. She is so caring and thorough. I wish that I could give him and his staff 6 or more stars!! I am so grateful to have such a kind, compassionate and competent cardiologist.

Dr. K has been my cardiologist for many years and has seen me through many trials. He is knowledgeable, explains things well and willing to listen and not just write you off as a "crazy woman" which had happened to me with other doctors. Dr. K fought for me when other doctors were dragging their feet and made sure I got the treatment I needed. He is now treating my husband and we both feel very fortunate that he is our doctor.

My husband was assigned to Dr. K. in the hospital. He didn't already have a cardiologist. Let me tell you, that was the luckiest day of my husband's life. Dr. K. has an excellent bedside manner, he's always upbeat, he explains things thoroughly, never talks down to you, office runs extremely efficiently, he's smart, he's careful without scaring you half to death. I have a friend who is a surgical nurse and she told me that he is very respected in the hospital and that my husband was in good hands.

I'm impressed with this doctor's thoroughness, and I highly recommend him. He takes time to listen to me at each visit.

Dr. K saved my father's life. He is kind, caring and listens intently to his patient, my father. His staff is top notch, specifically Beth and Diane. They have developed a trusting relationship with my father. It is great to take him to a doctors office where they know you by your first name and treat you with dignity and respect.

I had a drug induced heart stress test in his Milford office on 8/17-his two Techs were wonderful-they knew I was nervous; but made the procedure as comfortable for me as possible; they were compassionate, and had great abilities to make me feel less nervous.

Horrible physician - Definitely a clown. Should not be practicing as a MD / Cardiologist.
