Dr. Mark William Karwal, MD

Karwal joined my care team when my primary oncologist was out of town. He visibly grimaced when I instinctively reached to shake his hand, then said barely two words to me prior to the physical examination. After the exam (which was all of 60 seconds in length), he attempted to convince me that my hard-won care plan was not in my best interests. It was not his place and came across pushy, unkind, and not at all professional. I would say it was the worst experience of my treatment so far, but I’m not sure it even counts given he spent less than 5 mins. with me.

Dr. K. was rec to me by several as the most knowledgeable expert, despite being quiet and all business-like, he warms up in conversation as visits progress. I wanted the best, didn't need a hand holder pep talk.

Dr. Karwal treated my medical questions as questions of his authority. He has terrible communication skills. He was dismissive of my concerns and did not care about what was important to me in my cancer treatment plan.

Very cold and uncaring. Physicians assistant is only one to examine you poorly. Waste of time. Made me feel hopeless.

Totally arrogant. Took me off my treatment/chemo and all other medications. Did not share with me his "plan of action". Changed doctors and found that my cancer had progressed. I am VERY angry.

Totally arrogant. Left me hanging. Doesn't listen.
