Dr. Mark Wendell Kubik, MD

I had a tumor in my face that had to be removed in my parotid gland, left cheek. My biggest concern was to find a doctor that specializes in Head and Neck Surgery, Otolaryngology. I also wanted a doctor that belongs to the American Board of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery because of the advanced training that they have and the delicate operation that needed to be performed. I met with the first of two surgeons in Pittsburgh that belong to the American Board of Otolaryngology. The first surgeon was very vague and did not explain things to me so I was forced to go online and I went to the Mayo Clinic and read all about the surgery and watched videos. I did not feel good about the vagueness of the first doctor when I asked questions. When I asked him if he would use a nerve monitoring device, he told me no. I then scheduled an appointment with Dr. Mark Kubik. I am so impressed by and grateful for the care given to me by Dr. Mark Kubik, he is an excellent surgeon. The level of… care he provides far surpasses that of any other doctor I have ever seen. I am so impressed! Dr. Mark Kubik was very personable, a great listener, good communicator and empathic to my concerns. He patiently explained every detail of the surgery and possible complications for my parotid gland surgery and really took the time to listen to and answer all of the questions I had at my first appointment. I then scheduled surgery. When I left my appointment, I felt that I was in good hands. Any time I messaged him, he personally answered all of my questions using language that was clear without using too much medical terminology instead of a physician’s assistant. Dr. Mark Kubik made himself available not only before but after my surgery to address any of my post-surgery expectations. Dr. Mark Kubik completed the surgery with no complications. It has been six months now and I now have all nerves functioning properly back in my face and the tumors gone. I would highly recommend Dr. Mark Kubik to anyone who is in discomfort to figure out what is causing your pain and map out a plan to get you feeling better. Dr. Mark Kubik’s staff, especially Heather - his surgery schedular, are a tremendous asset to his practice. Heather is so nice and friendly and always made me feel at ease about the upcoming surgery with her upbeat personality. My experience as a patient of Dr. Mark Kubik has been exceedingly positive. He was always professional, patient and attentive. I feel very blessed to have found Dr. Mark Kubik! Dr. Kubik knows how to make a patient feel as though they are being cared for, that their concerns are valid, and that they are being heard. Thank you Dr. Kubik and God bless you!
