Rushing uncaring horrible experience wouldn't recommend to anybody above ground

Terrible would not recommend to anyone above ground!

Dr. Lencke saw our 21 year old son with a rare genetic seizure disorder that left him intubated in the hospital for a week. This was our post stay visit and we had a long list of questions and concerns. He walked in fully prepared, eager to assess him and very patiently and thoroughly answered all of our questions. We could not have asked for a better experience. I almost cancelled the appointment after reading these reviews but desperate to have questions answered, we decided to risk it and we are all SO happy we did.

I came to Dr. Lencke after months of debilitating pain. He rushed me through my retelling of all that had happened to me and seemed more interested in finishing the appointment than hearing what I had to say. He showed no empathy whatsoever for my pain. The entire experience was exasperating, difficult, and upsetting.

I have been to Dr. Lencke three times and have found him to be very accommodating and pleasant. I brought a list of questions to ask and he went over each one patiently. I would not hesitate to recommend him.

He was my mother’s doctor for years. She passed away and I have sent numerous people to him. Every single one of them has said he was rude and demeaning, he didn’t explain things well, and acted like he had better things to do. One friend, a police officer, said she first wanted to punch him, and because she couldn’t she started to cry and he laughed at her. How is he still practicing treating people so horribly? I’m appalled.

I was under Dr. Lencke's care several years ago for unexplained seizures. One Saturday morning, while under his care mind you, I woke to find I could not see out of one eye. I looked up Dr. Lencke in the Columbia phone book and was quite panicked as to what it could be that was wrong with me. Surprisingly, a female answered the phone number I dialed and told me Dr. Lencke was in to please hold on, I had obviously reached his residence. He came to the phone from the yard and when I explained who I was and what I was calling about, he only wanted to know how I got the phone number! I told him that I found it in the phone book. He then told me that if I wished to speak to him further to make an appointment and hung up the phone. I see these other reviews for how compassionate this so called doctor is. Well I'm here to tell you that Dr. Mark K. Lencke's Hippocratic Oath is only good during normal business hours. If that appeals to you, knock yourself out folks. He's a gem.

I have never given a bad review because everyone has bad days. Because of this doctor we were set back several months with my stepfathers care. When we finally got to see Dr. Lencke he would not listen to me he said he only talked to his patients not the family. He finally said there was nothing he could do for us, we needed to go to MUSC. We tried and tried and we finally found a Dr. in Columbia that helped us after being admitted into the hospital. We will have more long waits to get in with more specialist but we finally have a diagnosis of NPH. If Dr. Lencke had done his job we would have had answers sooner. My advice is do not even start with this doctor, a waste of time. Its sad and I'm sure they are all over loaded but to be rude and waste my valuable time trying to help my stepfather is unforgivable. The office staff was nice and I hate they have to work with him.

He worried to much about the eye specialist returning my care back to him. He called her from the next room and I could here his end of the conversation. Misdiagnosed and ended up at MUSC.

This guy moves from one practice to another and very tells his patience. His own answering service does not know he left the Taylor street practice. Now I have to get my own medical records and transfer them to his new practice located at Lexington Medical Park. Mean while my prescription for my migraine medicine Prior Authorization is being held ransom at the Taylor street practice. Think I am going to change doctors and give up on trying to get the Prior Authorization done.
