Waited 2 hours for scheduled appointment. Still wailting.

Don't ask for natural materials! If you do, you will be asking for a very long wait/delay in surgery date. Don't expect any information about your repair, before or after care. Also don't expect your calls to be returned the same day if at all if you have questions or leave messages. Dr. Leirz is a very knowledgeable doctor in this profession and I do trust his diagnosis, but he has no bedside manner and unless you are proactive in your care and in asking questions you will be left in the dark about a lot. He tries to call and speak to you, but it is difficult to ascertain a lot of information from these conversations. I am waiting after 2 weeks and still have no surgery date.

One of the best doctors I've ever had during my 67 years. I wish there were more like him.

says he'll do one thing then blows it off. says he explained something but he really didn't. only one out of five office staff will return call when assistance was requested. Had to call at least five times over a two week period to get something resolved then one of his colleagues had to take care of it. I am making monthly payments but an office girl calls to badger me about paying more

Dr. Lierz is a super busy guy as his waiting room will attest. Know your questions or have them written down so you don't become flustered because although he will take the time to answer your questions and give you the one on one time you need, if you aren't ready or don't appear to have any questions he is out the door faster than a jack rabbit. LOL. I was disappointed with the office staff in St. Joseph as they appeared cold and disinterested in me as a person and only shuffled me from necessary screening things prior to the Doctor seeing me. No one said, "now we are going to do this," "this looks good..." Just pretty much tossed a sheet at me and told me to get undressed. Nurses over the phone, however respond promptly to calls and questions. I was surprised post surgically that the Dr. did not visit with me in the hospital although he called me both at the hospital and followed up (even on the weekend) with my care at home. He did not hesitate to tell me to call if I EVER… had or expereienced any problems. In this day and age where healthcare payouts to Dr.s are being cut I understand the need to streamline but despite his winning personality and his more than capable hands, I still felt more like a number than a patient. I would have liked to have seen a little more patient education pre-surgically and post surgically on what I was to expect and how things were going to be rearranged. An educational pamphlet would have been nice.

I have been a patient with Dr. Lierz for approximately ten years. He is the best doctor I've ever had...personable, professional and highly qualified. I've referred numerous family members and friends with complete confidence.
