Dr. Mark Douglas Locke

my kids go see dr locke and they have been seeing him for about 2-3 years now and every time one of my kids get hurt he is very caring and makes sure that they are taken care of. he is fast but efficient one of the best dr's that i have ever taken my kids to see.

We waited for over an hour to see him. When he finally arrived, he was very quick with us and acted disinterested in my daughter's problem. I would not recommend him.

My kids have seen him for year and every time he comes with a smile and takes care of my kids and makes sure they are ok and get better.

I love Dr. Locke. All four of my daughters have had to see him over the years and he is excellent in explaining the issues going on and what needs to be done. It amazes me how he with the testing of certain areas of the limb is able to identify and properly treat the ailment. Unlike many doctors Dr. Locke is very approachable, has a sense of humor, and takes a personal interest in the child...even a little life motivational talk from time to time. I am one extremely happy customer.

I took my daughter to Dr. Locke and I felt he lacked compassion for her situation. He basically told me that she should learn how to play computer games because that was the only sport she should play! I am not sure what his positive attributes are but I came away from there feeling hopeless. What an uncaring doctor. Well years later she has enjoyed swimming, cheerleading and basketball. Obviously we found another doctor.

There was a time I overheard this man say that " money talks". Special needs kids are lowest on the list, especially when they're institutionalized and have no parents at the visits, only caretakers. His theory is "they can wait, they have nothing better to do". Really, Dr. Locke ? Do they not get uncomfortable in casts, or after surgery! A little time is spent if the Mom is there, and just a little more if both parents are there. I'd never take my child to this egotistical person! He's in medicine for all the wrong reasons...especially when it comes to children! His skills are lacking in the operating room as well!

Dr. Locke saw my first daughter because she was bow legged, he was very nice and great with my daughter, we came back once a month for check ups to see how her progress was and he said her legs would straighten out by the time she was 3 and then they would turn in and she would be knock kneed and they would straighten out on their own by the time she was 6 and like clockwork that's what happened now my 15 month old is also bow legged and we are taking her to see Dr. Locke today! He is a very nice man, good with my children, and I am very pleased with how we were treated!

My daughter has seen Dr. Locke for 7 1/2 years, he as performed 2 hip surgeries and will be doing at least 1 more on her. First I must say Dr. Locke and his staff are amazing, kind and caring. He is a wonderful Dr, and am so thankful for everything he has done for my daughter. Most of the time our wait is about 30 minutes but sometimes it may be longer, honestly I don't mind the wait it is well worth it. I would rather wait for a great Dr than have a quick visit with a crappy Dr. anytime. Dr. Locke is a very gifted docter!!

I have been to Doctors with condescending god complexes, and Dr, Locke is definitely NOT one of them. my daughter went to him on recommendation from a prosthetic personnel because of our experience at MUSC. I could not have been more at ease with his knowledge of my child's condition. The compassion and patience he had for my daughter and myself(without the husband present).he routinely gave me information about her surgery and was understanding when he had to repeat himself of the procedure because of my mind racing. He forewarned us of my daughters condition each day she was in the hospital during her recovery. His assistant Kelli, is incredible in everything that she does to make the surgery process easier for the patient and the family. I do not know about post op as of yet since her appointment is next week. I will keep in touch. I do feel secure that my daughter will be given the same excellent care as pre op. Also I traveled 2.5 hrs. to have him treat my daughter. Well worth the… trip.

I cannot even begin to explain how horrible this doctor was. My son went to him for about 2 years complaining constantly of an arm that hurt. The dr. told him that it was all in his head and he just did this for attention. that was clearly untrue as my son had played baseball AND football and had to quit them both from constant arm pain. we stopped going to this dr once we got a second opinion. my son had hurt his arm multiple times and needed surgery. the new doctor told us that had we not come to him in time, my son would have lost complete feeling in his arm. no one needs to see Dr. Locke because he doesn't know what he is doing and he wasted 2 years of my son's life. No one should go through all my child has gone through. Please, go to another dr and get a second opinion.
