Dr. Mark Harmon Meissner, MD

Dr. Meissner was terrific. He immediately diagnosed my DVTs, made an appointment for Friday but he called me on my personal phone on Tuesday and Thursday. When we met on Friday, he was certain that I had to have surgery that very day with the A team. They cleared my DVTs and put in stents and I have made great progress to get back to my old self. I strongly endorse Dr. Meissner Ralph M.

Dr. Meissner has performed several surgeries for me, first fixing a problem caused by another surgeon, and then working to keep my L-Iliac vein functioning properly. He is a highly-skilled surgeon and also takes the time to explain options and risks involved with all proposed procedures. I drive 48 miles each way to UW to see him as he is the top surgeon in his field.

He is the best. Another surgeon botched a surgery and hid his mistake so I did not get proper treatment from my PCP. When the mistake was discovered, it was a battle to get treatment in time. A different surgeon discovered the mistake, but because of L and I and "self insured " business, and "denials "... Later an attorney ...(. I could have ended up losing my leg !) Dr. Meissner 's staff realized the critical nature of my problem and we were racing against time. They squeezed me in and scheduled surgery. Because of who Dr. Meissner is, he got a new piece of equipment that I told him was in a clinical trial that said they would take me! I got the best Dr. And the latest technology. I have some permanent damage, but not because of Dr. Meissner ( it's from initial surgeon). I have a leg! And I can walk! And it still swells, but I have things to help with the lymphedema. He got a massive clot out of my leg and 4 stents in and a return of blood flow and greatly reduced my pain. He's… the BEST!
