Mark J. Melkonian, DDS
As a native of Armonk, New York, I feel privileged to have grown up in an area with excellent educational resources. From an early age, I took an acute interest in mathematics and science; biology and chemistry in particular. This led me to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree at Union College, a small liberal arts college in upstate New York. During these formative college years, my interest in medicine grew dramatically. My ultimate decision to pursue a career in dentistry afforded me the option of balancing my interest in medicine with my desire to help people while making a difference in their lives.
I embarked on my career in dentistry by attending New York University College of Dentistry, graduating with honors in 2001. Upon completion of dental school, I was selected as a General Practice Resident at Westchester Medical Center. This one year program allowed me to expand my knowledge basis and hone my clinical skills. This residency had particular focus on …oral and maxillofaci al surgery, oral-facial trauma, and cosmetic and restorative dentistry. After working as an associate dentist for three years following my residency, I joined with Dr. Robert Schoenberg in 2004, when we opened Prospect Hill Dental. This new hi-tech facility allows us to offer the latest in dental technology, including low radiation digital radiography, intra-oral cameras, and computer controlled anesthesia, for virtually painless injections.
I frequently attend continuing education courses to stay on the cutting edge of modern dentistry thus enhancing our ability to offer new and streamlined services to our patients.
